It's not just this. It's literally everything
I don't see life as "heroes and villains." Ok, maybe Putin.
Most of the time, people have reasons for what they do, I try to understand their reasons.

A lot of people here like to vent for the sack of venting, I don't see much porpoise in that.

The Flyers are rebuilding, but first they have to establish structure, and a philosophy.
Then gradually work in prospects as the season goes along.
By April we'll have a better sense of the future.
But right now, why get bent out of shape over minor decisions?

As far as the past, I didn't like the Risto trade or extension, but at this point, just have to hope Torts can raise his game.
Instead of obsessing on Ghost, who's gone, I'm more interested in seeing if Torts can help TDA to round out his game, the offensive talent is obvious, but he needs to improve his defense.
I'd rather have Atkinson on LTIR than 33 year old Jake and two more years of $8.25M in the lineup.
I wish the best for G in Ottawa, but this team needed to shed older players and their contracts, not add them.
It's a shame about Lindblom, but $3M is harder to bury than $1.75M, and he's 4th line in San Jose, playing 11 minutes a night.
NAK, MacEwen, neither should be playing for the Flyers down the road.

Right now, to me it's all a waiting game, Foerster, Desnoyers, Lycksell, York and Attard will be in the lineup at some point, if Gauthier keeps playing well, odds are he's in Philly in April.

With the injuries to forwards, they might dress 7 D-men and use Risto on the PP as the up front guy, I think Buffalo used him in that role at times. Unless you're going to put Allison in front of the net (given his injury history . . .), do the Flyers have anyone else right now to fill that role?

All these moves are temporary, I mean they're going to have to limit Braun's minutes, even 17 minutes a night is probably too much over the long haul.

One also wonders if this is also a Torts motivation tactic: "don't care about your contract, if you want PT you play my way."

If Braun can't even handle 17 minutes a night without collapsing then York should just be playing.

Maybe you should try considering that the Flyers are incompetently managed instead of coming up with a series of defenses that aren't supported by any actions the team takes.

Meltzer said Tanner's out because his Mrs. Lacznyski is about to give birth

Ha! Thank you for reminding me of his first name.

I saw in an earlier post that Laczynski was out. Then I realized how close Laczynski sounded to Kaczynski. Then I thought of Ted Kaczynski. Next I thought, "wait, have we had Ted Laczynski all these years and no one ever made the reference? No hang on, his name is not Ted.... What is it? Kevin? Trevor?"

Anyway, congratulations Ted Laczynski!

Drafting 8th overall, trading JVR/Braun, and signing every secondary piece to long term extensions.

Rebuild my ass. Half ass retool, as always.
I would rather sign TK, Sanheim and Farabee to long-term deals at reasonable prices than some 29 year old FA.

They have limited options, you can't trade Couts, Atkinson, Ellis. Hayes and Risto will get you nothing with those contracts and might cost some picks.

The time for a big rebuild push was 2018, after it was clear they weren't a playoff team.
Now it's going to be a gradual process, b/c there are no assets to sell at the TDL other than JVR/Braun.
You might move Provorov this summer, but he's not a good TDL candidate.

i've just accepted that sanheim will never be on the pp here. It is what it is. York was on it more, prov, tda, gustaffson, yandle, risto was tried there a few times, and now zamula was given a look. I think sanheim won't be there ever.

Now if they do this to provorov, it would help out. As long as prov isn't on the top unit tho and he finally isn't. Once york gets here, if they can just run it with tda/york it would be awesome. Have prov/sanheim take majority of ES time

I’d rather save the cap space, and flexibility down the line instead of tying myself to a bunch of primarily mediocre talent that’s somehow labeled as a viable “core”.

The notion they need to blow every dollar the minute they have some space is an interesting one for sure. That’s classic Flyers.

Provorov, or Sanheim could have been moved this summer - as prep for the upcoming draft. It’s not a rebuild. They never rebuild.

Question, although I’ll open myself up here saying I haven’t watched much of him pre NHL.

Why is there a thought that York has a power play future. I assume it’s because of his younger playing days? I don’t see a lot of dynamic or creative play from Cam, albeit in limited viewings.

he was decent on it last year. He can make plays in tight and I think/hope he has the potential to be solid on it. I think he has been a pp qb everywhere he has played, going from college to wjc to pros.

I'm rooting for him because he is from my city and we literally have no one else lol. Besides york, I just see no one else that can come on our pp. I think he could be better than zamula, prov, risto. Sanehim won't get a chance at all for some reason. If we do draft a dynamic d like Zellweger or minty than they will definitely take the reigns eventually but we have to get more picks to try and land someone like that.

TDA is a top PP QB, as good or better than Ghost in his prime, so we're talking PP2 in any case when it comes to other D-men.

York has good vision and is a good passer, needs to improve on his shoot from the point.

Provorov only makes sense paired with someone like TDA, b/c he does have a plus wrist shot, but he's not a PP QB.
I'm not sold on Sanheim as a PP QB, though a Sanheim - Attard pairing might be worth a look down the road.

I suppose I just haven't seen anything to be really excited about. On a team with a lot of vanilla secondary men, he fits right in.

I will maintain a part of this is the Flyers dev process, because it's also kind of a trend of what they turn guys into.

Dude, he’s a bright star and obviously well connected!

Never has there been a guy to say so much, without saying anything at all. If you've dared listen to some podcasts he's on. This notion hes somehow connected, no idea who those men are - because he hasn't shared a lick of actual inside knowledge similar to ASF or Charlie.

ya from what I have seen and read around here, people are in the same thought process as you. He doesn't stand out and blow you away dynamically but he is just a solid dman. Hoping he can be even a fraction of timmo was tbh cus he was never the flashiest but he just got the job done.

If York was 6’1 205 he’d already be up. This dinosaur organization is lost in the 1990s.

The current D should be:
Provy-TDA
Sanheim-Zamula/York
York/Zamula-Braun

But God forbid they sit future hall of famer Seeler or the 5.1 million per moron.

We're unlikely to land a Makar, so our best best is rolling out three solid pairs.
So the development of Zamula, York, Attard and Andrae could let us do that.
