FWIW Murray's been out since early April with a head injury from a pretty fluky fall. It's all Sammy for this series.
Thanks, yea I thought Murray had finally come back from injury, and didn’t realize he got hurt again so quickly. Dude cannot catch a break.

Yea, hard to imagine they can go with someone as inexperienced as Woll in G2. All of Sammy’s “improvements” wiped away just like that because he’s a head case when it matters most. Boy, he is in for a beating from Leafs media over the next 48 hrs.

At least he knows how bad he was:

Lundqvist was a long shot. He became the 3rd goalie on the Rangers after 4 straight bad seasons. He was then bought out despite being beloved by the fans/organization.

No Lundqvist was not GMBM putting his chips on a strong candidate. It was a dumpster dive.

You're not wrong but Lundqvist is famous for being an amazing goaile mentally. Which is the main issue with Sammy who has all the physical tools but not the mindset. So a dumpster dive with a high possibility of turning into a great mentorship for what is/was a highly touted goalie prospect in Sammy.

Ilya Samsonov:
1-7 record
3.45 GAA
.895 SV%

Vitek Vanecek:
1-2 record
4.17 GAA
.844 SV%

Don't worry guys, it's only Vasilevsky and Shesterkin who you are going against. Atleast good old Grubauer made us proud.

Rangers with the easiest Playoff win of all-time, the Devils just lied down in front of them at their own rink. I heard a very loud 'Igor' -chant a few times, yikes.

Leafs being the Leafs we know and love. Same applies to Samsonov, really. They may go to Murray as early as game 2 already. Not only they were destroyed at home but Bunting went full-Kadri on that game and i'm curious to see how long he sits for that hit.

Meanwhile the West is exciting... every underdog won their first game.

Road teams all won last night, wow. I'd be more shocked by the Eastern Conference results but seeing who was in goal for each... Not hating, just saying!

Watching the Bruins-Panthers series. It's interesting, the Panthers are playing quite well and their dump-in strategy is working but they still lost game 1 3-1. The Bruins have that latent winning ability which to me is a sign of a really good team.

Meanwhile Grubby played amazing and has the #1 seed down a game. He was the one the got away but Holtby gave us 2018. It would have taken some real balls to send Holtby walking after the cup but we did that with the coach.

How do the rangers always hit the jackpot on goalies. Even cam talbot kicked ass there before he left to get paid

Watching the Leafs-Bolts game. Wow, the Leafs are so toast if they keep Sammy in net. I know next to nothing about goaltending but his positioning and rebound control is so bad. I actually like the guy but he sucks. He needs to do some spinoramas to get into the game.

Haha omg. I remember when Sammy let one in for us and the commentators said "Somehow it squeezes into the net".

Now, the commentators said: "Somehow, the puck is in the Leafs net and the Leafs are wondering how".

Never change Sammy.....

I picked the Jets and Kraken to upset and not just because I like them. Still a long series to fulfill my picks.

Someone took the goalies skate blade to the face in the Winnipeg Vegas game. Looks like the blade was behind the shield of the jets player and bloody. Could be ugly but looks like it could have been a lot worse
Follow up it was Morgan Barron dude took 75+ stitches from getting the goalies skate to his face.

I hope they keep him in. It was Unbearable listening to some friends and colleagues bragging and berating non Leaf fans. No hate for the NJD like other divisional rivals, however I cannot support VV. He will always be that guy who got hurt before a series started.

Neither outcome would be surprising. Nobody picked Vegas to come out of the West in the glorious year of 2018 because they didn’t have stars, just a lot of depth, and that’s the narrative with Seattle. That, and do they have any goaltending? Colorado, though still very good and a legitimate Cup contender, isn’t the same team as last year. They’re not as deep and Makar is just coming back from injury.

And who is playing net for Vegas? They’ve had five goalies play in games this year with no starter playing more than 37 games so I’ll take Hellebuyck over whoever Vegas plays. Mark Stone has had two back surgeries this year and is just ramping up.

Nothing in the West would surprise me. You could tell me any team made it out of the Conference and I wouldn’t think twice.
