They are obviously both sign and trade (to Avs) deals.Bad day for those who wanted us to somehow get Bergeron and trade for Crowse
If you're serious: try to trade him for a younger 1C on a cheaper contract. Either directly or indirectly. Is Barzal available for the right return?I mean what's the other option?
hope so"7 years contract with the Islanders, they'll announce that soon."

Pagnotta: Kadri to the Isles is a formality
The Fourth Period's Dave Pagnotta joined the show to talk Patrice Bergeron re-upping with the Boston Bruins and news and notes around the NHL.www.tsn.ca
TSN rumor had it at 13.5What’s dater spitballing in this article? Couldn’t pay me to subscribe, is he just speculating? Mack wants more than 12.5?!
Craziness, yet I kinda agree that the team would be stronger with the money split between two centers. We still have some absolute elite talent in the team. Thing is, are those centers going to be on the market? If you're serious: try to trade him for a younger 1C on a cheaper contract. Either directly or indirectly. If Mack is asking for 13M+ I'd consider it. That's enough AAV for a 1C and a 2C.
Trying to win again is more important than rewarding players for what they have done like Chicago and LAK did after their cups.
Mack should return enough assets to turn around and trade those assets for a 1C and a 2C.
And so it begins. If Nate wants $13M, trade him.
Lol. I love Nate, but he’s not worth $13M. I know the cap is going up in a couple years. And so it begins.
I'm more worried about finding a team willing to pay full price for Mack.Craziness, yet I kinda agree that the team would be stronger with the money split between two centers. We still have some absolute elite talent in the team. Thing is, are those centers going to be on the market?
Right right because one of the greatest playoff performers in history and our franchise center is only worth, what, like 10mill? 10.2?Lol. I love Nate, but he’s not worth $13M. I know the cap is going up in a couple years.
Irrelevant. He's worth 14M on the open market, doesn't mean we can afford it.Right right because one of the greatest playoff performers in history and our franchise center is only worth, what, like 10mill? 10.2?
I mean you're losing that trade 99/100.If you're serious: try to trade him for a younger 1C on a cheaper contract. Either directly or indirectly. Is Barzal available for the right return?

A team letting their franchise player go after a Cup win would be unprecedented in the cap era, no?Irrelevant. He's worth 14M on the open market, doesn't mean we can afford it.
He’s worth more than that.Right right because one of the greatest playoff performers in history and our franchise center is only worth, what, like 10mill? 10.2?
Makar is our franchise player. He’s the best player on this team.A team letting their franchise player go after a Cup win would be unprecedented in the cap era, no?
I disagree. It's not only the hockey trade, it's the cap space and what you do with it.I mean you're losing that trade 99/100.
They are both franchise players. He’s worth more than that.

I wouldn’t pay MacKinnon 12.5+. I even struggle to get to 12.
If you go that high, you really have to move Rantanen, or Landeskog soon.
MacKinnon is one of the all-time great players to ever where an Avs sweater. If the cap was irrelevant, I’d have no interest in seeing him ever leave. But, you have to think about how you build a competitive team and whether, or not MacKinnon is worth McDavid money.
That being said, all these other dudes that are not even close to MacKinnon’s level are re-signing for high value this off-season. Pretty much all of them got market value. It’s kind of annoying that it has to be MacKinnon that needs to take a cut.
Are the assets you get really more valuable than Mack? I'd have to see the offers we'd get for him, but trading Mack would be.... a real issue I think for the future of this team.I disagree. It's not only the hockey trade, it's the cap space and what you do with it.
