Rodrigues is an elite skater and a solid playmaker. His underlying numbers are pretty damn good too. I think he he's a better fit if someone needs to fill in as 2C because we already know that's not something Compher can do. Basically, I don't think Compher makes his linemates better but Rodrigues could.

Then if/when they can acquire someone at the TDL, you can move Compher to wing where he's probably better anyways.

Some insane metrics.

f***ing finally, all this crap for a 7x7 deal. Lol.

Good for him, glad he got a pay day.

Know we can focus on the important things like getting 29 signed.

And filling the 2C gap.
Are you willing to admit you've been wrong the last 6 weeks?

Everyone was saying Kadri was waiting for a contending team to move salary to make room for him. You spent the last six weeks saying that's BS and it doesn't take long to move salary even though tons of people here told you you were wrong.

You did your typical "tweak from south park" routine and embarrassed yourself, once again. Just like when you used to say landeskog was a terrible captain and would never lead this team to success.

Hang your head in shame. You don't deserve to celebrate this win with the rest of us.

Shame. Shame. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Yeah the Avs should still be the better team, but us losing Kadri and Calgary gaining Kadri is definitely a significant swing.

Regular season I don't think the Avs will win the West this year. Combination of Cup hangover and a weaker roster.

But playoff time I still think we should absolutely be the team to beat. Especially if we add someone like JT Miller at the trade deadline.

Miller would be amazing. I feel like he’s going to be expensive as f*** though.

Edmonton concerns me most of the teams’ in the West. Makar might be the magic sauce against them though. I feel like he’s always at his best when he goes up against a a team that has a mega star on it.

Kadri signed with the fLames? I thought he wanted to play for a contender! :sarcasm:

In all sincerity- Kadri proved himself this past season, a great regular season and tremendous playoffs. And in the face of abuse from stinking racist white trash, that no human being should ever be subjected to, he stepped up and smacked down their shit team.

Kudos to Kadri! :stanley:

Theres no need to focus on any one team.

A lot of people did the exact same thing last off season. Last offseason, all anyone ever spoke about was how to match up against Vegas.

You never know how seasons play out. No need to try to make sure you can beat any specific team. Fill as many of your important weaknesses as you can, and be as strong to your identity as you can be, and you should be in a good position to win.

First question to Treliving in his presser was "why did it take so long?". He didn't answer directly but it sounded like it was Kadri's side who took that long.

So it's still possible that Kadri got sick of waiting after Lou.
Nothing to do with Lou at all. Friedman on Sportsnet a couple of hours ago said that the Islanders were never willing to go to the term that Kadri wanted, and that Kadri was always wanting to consider returning to the Avalanche and giving them all the time to make it work financially but the Avs were not willing to move Girard to make things happen.

Said that the Flames were in it from the get-go but that Kadri gave the Avs the chance to re-sign him until he realized they couldn't make it work.

Quite frankly, I don't believe the Islanders were ever in it.

We kinda went 4-1 without Kadri in the playoffs. But that doesnt matter. Winning a handful of games with a injury or 2 is one thing. Winning large samples changes everything.

We definitely struggled a bit without #2 center. Crucial position.

Helps so much to bump Compher to third line.

Not sure how we solve this problem now though.

If Rodriquez offered anything at all he would be signed by now.

He had a good year and stepped up when Crosby was hurt but was a middling 4th liner/borderline 3rd line guy for the 5 years prior.

Stastny is far superior.

Am I wrong or didn't we just sweep Edmonton?

They will win nothing until they learn to play defense. Especially MacDavid and Draisaitl.

Not moving Girard for futures so we could re-sign Kadri is a huge mistake.

Girard is a waste on the 3rd pair.

First I wasn't wrong. A team didn't have to make a trade to make space.

Monahan being dealt after they signed Kadri wasn't making space prior to signing Kadri.

Yeah they moved him but it was after they signed Kadri. Not something in the making for 6+ weeks.

Consider yourself reported and enjoy your ban!!! Personal attacks are for the weak computer warriors. I'm so afraid of the big bad keyboard warrior. Lol.

I would like to think Stastny has the competitive drive to want to win a Cup before all is said and done on his career. The Avs give him as good a shot as anyone, and the teams does have the need. If the money is right (2 million?) and it's a one year then please bring it. I wouldn't mind Evan Rodrigues but my guess is he is looking for at least 2 years on a deal.

You can be over the cap in the summer. The deals being done the same day speak to it as making space

Clearly, Sakic thought Manson was more crucial and certainly more unique to future AVS success than Kadri.
Not Manson, Nuke.

Had the Avs offered the Nuke contract to Kadri he'd have accepted. They make the same money.

Lol you were completely wrong.

The logistics of Monahan being traded merely minutes after they signed Kadri certainly doesn't help your argument.

But of course you see it otherwise.

Lol it didn't take 6+ weeks to make that move.

You're kidding yourself if you think that is the case.

Maybe a week or two tops.

This screams Calgary came in after NYI was closing in and offered a better deal. Then figured it how to make it quickly happen.

If anything Lou waited to long and Kadri moved on.

Kent Hughes said in his presser that Treliving contacted him 72hrs ago for the Monahan trade. It's pretty damn clear that's when Kadri decided to go to Calgary.
