As of 7/13 2pm EST.

Bunting - Matthews - Marner

Engvall(RFA) - Kampf - Aube-Kubel
Clifford - Gaudette - Simmonds

Anderson, Robertson

Reilly - Brodie
Muzzin - Liljegren
Giordano - Holl

Sandin(RFA)

Murray
Samsonov

Worst bottom six in the league? I think it is, which begs to question, is this a playoff team? I think this is a playoff bubble team especially after what Ottawa did. Dubas really needs to fix this!!

we've got a shot at resigning blackwell and can entice him with a better role. Robertson has a decent shot at cracking the roster. Knies should be joining us during the season. Lots can change before the season starts. Don't think the situation is as dire as you're making it out to be.

They will be a playoff team but no so sure they a better then last season. Especially in goal. That bottom 6 is worse then last year. With Ottawa, Detroit and Buffalo getting better I don't think they finish anywhere near with 115 points.

Probably should wait more than 3 hours after free agency opened to get into the details.

We're significantly worse then last year. Especially in the bottom 6 and potentially the goaltending department if Murray falls on his face. Meanwhile the division bottom feeders got alot better.

I assume there will be trade movement.
As of right now, we're decidedly weaker than last year and our division only got tougher.
Our depth is really bad. Goaltending, who knows how it turns out.
TSN panel ranked the Leafs last for goaltending among Canadian Teams.

I don't think the OP is looking for discussion, they haven't been back.

We'll see come March where we are in the standings. I'd be surprised if we're comfortably in a playoff spot. After 70 games I see us in the 80-85 point range.

You realize there is still 3 months until opening night? They don't need to set the roster in July.

OP as bad as Gudbranson's new contract

i believe OP is inferring to the fact that there isn't much cap space left, i think around $3m, a lot of that probably going to Sandin with multiple bottom six holes in the lineup

I’d be concerned about how Detroit, Buffalo, and Ottawa improving affects us if we ever had good records against any of those teams lol

I basically said the exact same thing as you. Lol.

However I do think that the thought of the Leafs being touch and go to make the playoffs is a bit extreme. I think they'll comfortably make it. But making it out of the 1st round will be a challenge though.

Trade Holl, 1.8 to Sandin, leaves 3.2 or so available

Personally with 2-3 million I'd invest in a budget 2lw option and bump Kerfoot to the 3rd line, which makes everything look a lot better.

2nd line and 3rd line need some work.

Gaudette and Simmonds don't belong on the roster.

what's the top 4 look like then and who is your 7th D/ Depth on defence.

Will they be a better playoff team is the question. Goaltending will probably be the deciding factor, Campbell's .897 SV% in the playoffs was less than impressive so if someone can step for us and do better, that will go a long way to make up for anything else. And even with that, we almost beat the powerhouse TB team, hopefully we get an easier 1st round opponent next season.

That said, goaltending looks to be a bit of a crapshoot this season so we'll just have to wait and see. And as far as the rest of the team goes, still a long way to opening night, I'm pretty sure our lineup isn't quite set yet.
