Nuke also might not want to stay here, now that he'll have plenty of suitors. He may want to live somewhere with a bigger Russian expat community. I hope we can sign him but its definitely not a guarantee.
 
Jeff Marek said last week that Bergeron is a lock for the Selke this year but Nuke should be in the conversation for 2nd place.

Nuke has been under the radar but he's getting attention now (probably at the wrong time for us).

This is based on nothing other than unsubstantiated thoughts. But the Avs took a chance on Nuke. They gave him a shot when things looks pretty bad for his career. I wonder if us reigniting his career works in our favor when it comes to signing him

Money always talks. If some team out there is willing to go 5x5 with Nuke I imagine he's a goner. These guys have such a limited window to make this kind of money.

I wish Sakic would be a little more proactive when it comes to UFA's. Waited too long for Grubauer, waited too long for Landy and now he's waiting too long for Nuke and possibly Kuemper and Bura as well.

He doesn't have to wait until they hit the market to re-up them! He did it with Francouz so it's doable!

Maybe he already tried but Nuke wants to wait to see what is out there in FA first.

It takes two to sign a contract. Sakic wasn't willing to meet Grubauer's demands and rightfully so - guy is worth nowhere near the kind of money he's currently making.

Landeskog was a nail biter for sure. That said, guys have to also be willing to sign if Sakic wants to talk. Sometimes agents tell their guys to wait until the offseason.

I mean Svatos had a season of 32 goals and 50 points, then another season of 26 goals and 37 points (both of those in 61 and 62 games, respectively).

Wolski had a 22 goal, 50 point rookie season and actually scored 45+ points in 3 of his 4 seasons with the Avs, the lone season he didn't he had 42.

It's not a bad comparison.

For some teams Burakovsky would be a top 2 or top 3 player for them, for the Avs he's the 6th best forward has 20 goals and 50 points and we always complain about him.

How spoiled are we?

You really think he'll get more than Danault and Hyman? I think Sakic will start in the 4s with a Coleman comparison and work his way up to the Danault contact. Manson does not get 5 and if he does we shouldn't be in that game.

He didn’t wait too long for any of them especially in hindsight. He got Landy to come down a bit and it sure seems like he made the right decision with Grubauer.

The only times he’s waited too long was with Jost and JTC.

The cap didn’t rise last year. It’s my prediction. We’ll definitely see. Where did I make a prediction on Manson… hint. I didnt

Any team that has Bura among their top 5 players sucks. One dimentional 2nd line scorer playing in the best possible situation for him.
