came here to say the same, the past month and a half ryu has been very mediocre and has the worst era of our 5 starters at around 5 1/2. very concerning.

That's only been 2 weeks, but I don't think that stuff helps a changeup.

i saw a stat where were one the the very few team whos spin rate didnt drop at all after the crackdown, so its unlikely due to that. it could be injury related but i dont know. its not good enough for a number 1 though

or it's a cold stretch, all players have them. Also, this "bad month" narrative is over-blown. His last start he looked good until the 7th, the game before he just gave up 1, the two prior weren't great but only gave up 3. It's really only the Astros game and today that have been actually bad

That’s what I figured but I hadn’t seen anything on his spin rate. I was hoping it was that rather than injury since he’s plenty good to adjust but hopefully he’s healthy. He’s way too key that it feels like games get thrown away when he doesn’t have a good start.
