This team is just building up false hope again and improving their run differential to set the MLB record (wild card era) for best run differential to miss the playoffs

It is unlikely they'll win enough games against New York to make up the difference, BUT the pitching is finally starting to match the offense, so it does seem possible. And they have a lot of games against the Orioles left to play. All they have to do is avoid getting swept by the Rays or something and this thing might happen.

Cant say im thrilled with dickerson leadoff. But i guess the rest of the offense was hot in their positions and didnt want to touch that

Yay, if they can go like +70 against the Orioles, and break even vs the rest of the teams they might hit +200 while missing the playoffs. I hope someone at Elias is sorting through the data now so they can release it right after the season ends.

Edit: after some research

Two wild card era (2012): +120 2012 Rays
One wild card era (1995): +194 2002 Red Sox

Jays are at +136

Rizzo has his elbow over the plate against lefties. I'm wondering what the exact rule is because hes basically going to get hit on anything up and inside.

If you get hit by a strike it's a strike. Unfortunately without the robot strike zone I doubt any human umpire will have the realization that it's in the strike zone if it hits him.

That's what I was thinking, the ump is going to call it a HBP no matter what. Cant say I've ever seen an umpire call a strike even when a guy is clearly leaning into it.
