Exactly how I feel reading these boards. Guaranteed more than half, including myself, don't get to watch these kids play and don't know much about them.

Rangers needs centers that can play now. These picks are 2-4 years away from actually making some jump/difference.

I'm not so sure....one of the major pieces that needed to be moved (Buch) didn't happen until today (or was it yesterday)....and I do believe Strome has a foot and a leg out the door...I'm just not getting a good feeling about this.

He seems a fine prospect, but with our lack of center deph in the center position combined with the Buch trade... this day sucked.

There was literally one single center (Svech) who I'd take around that pick and he has major questions on offense.

Rangers tried with grit and character in 2010-2015 and that didn’t work. Then they tried with skill and finesse in 2016-2020, Tom Wilson punched them in the head, and now we’re back to grit and character.

2015: Sather resigns as GM. Jeff Gorton named GM.
2021: Sather fires Gorton as GM and appoints protege Drury.

I think I see the reason why our philosophy has done an about face.

He said that he loves hitting so he was working out like crazy in order to run over people and it paid off big time. He hit everything that moved from game 1 when turning pro playing against men. Also got into two fights against much bigger guys.

Because Othmann was widely projected to go around our pick, was tied to us leading up to the draft, and is a totally acceptable pick?

How about his speed?

Very good. Some said he was slow skating but he was always pretty fast and explosive even playing on bigger European ice. He couldn't have been so effective as a hitter if he was slow.
