Do you feel comfortable with the direction of the team based on why you’re hearing?
I want to see the whole picture first. Not optimizing an attractive assets value through a mediocre return is never good. This was IMO such an instance. There was definitely a time factor to get it done before the draft to facilitate other move(s) involved here. Too many people knew about it, hence the fleecing. Can never be undone. This is far from over though

There are times when positivity is meaningless. The other thing to keep in mind, blais is an RFA next year... even if he has a fantastic year, and somehow scores 50 points, because he got on the third line here. We NOW HAVE TO PAY HIM!

IF we get 50 points out of him plus everything else, I don't think anyone would be worried about paying him.

We won't so its a moot point.

The roster construction as a whole is the result from the individual moves the team makes. And this individual move was horse shit, anyway you slice it.

When we evaluate this team on opening night, realize it could have been better if Drury managed the situation with Buch more optimally.
Each move has a purpose though. We don’t know what the purpose was. We can guess but the truth is we don’t know. You say it’s a bad trade because you are looking at the trade in this exact moment. Which is fine. Your a fan you aren’t getting paid to have a game plan and to constantly tweak the plan accordingly. But this is a very uncertain situation the Rangers are in. A new GM and coach. On top of a Covid season a flat cap and a expansion draft. There is just so many variables to consider with this roster. I just don’t think it’s fair to judge this trades at this current juncture.

Is there any way to start a poll in a current thread instead of making a new one?

Curious how many people think Rangers will select 15th tn or if it will be traded

Trouba Captaincy coming too.

Though that will be Gallant, but Drury hired him so Drury by association lol.

didn't the entire board want Gallant? I'm so confused by the contradictory posts from the people that spend 16 hours a day on these forums

i cant think what its going to cost to resign Buch as being that attractive to other teams either.

Nonsense

Interesting. Im still concerned about what direction Drury is going now. I mean he has cleared out a solid amount of cap space. He also is looking to deal strome and krieder. I just hope that we are gonna get a good deal

He will and everyone will still complain because Ranger fans love to f***ing complain. Bunch of f***ing bitches lol.

I don’t mind Blais. And I liked the Goodrow trade/signing. My issue is the currency that was exchanged. Trading a top-6 two way forward that has chemistry for a 4th liner and a 2nd round pick is crappy value.

Why did this need to get done before the draft, if the pick traded was a 2022 pick.

Just feels like Rangers locked in a Blais as a target, Blues asked for Buchnevich taking the piss and got it

h'what? The moves of late clear the way for Kakko/Kravtsov to move into the top 6 for the future. The future is now! We're living IN the future!

The value is doodie. What were the other options if this was the ONLY offer (or the best)? Hold on and try to trade at TDL? Try to resign him and trade Krav?
I would hope that he would have thought this all through no? I don't know, I can barely manage to get out of bed in the morning, let alone a f***ing NHL roster. Going to miss Buch's villain beard.

Right but here’s the thing Where was buch’s value at? You can set a price but you can’t force anyone to pay it. And you can say well I just won’t trade him. But that was an issue with Gorton. You can get f***ed hard by waiting too long.

Is Drury gonna get decent Center using Buch who is due a contract? We don't need wings or most defense so he went with cheap grit
