I haven’t had time to digest it yet and honestly I don’t think I will have time as I don’t think this roster is fully constructed yet. But rest assured I will be giving my opinion of this team loud and clear when the puck drops.

I realize there are other gears in motion, but whether the roster is fully constructed or not shouldn’t impact your thoughts on this specific trade.

exactly. Edge said it earlier. Even if you simply move buch in a different deal, get pieces, you could prob use some of those pieces to get blais, and still come out ahead.
This feels like a deal someone makes because they think they've got no other options, but we've been told he had plenty of options.

Why not? Why do we have to see every trade individual and not look at the roster construction as a whole? What you are saying is thinking like a fan. It’s simplistic and easy to label. But creating a competitive team is so much more complex than that. In any sport for that matter.

The upcoming deadline. 1 year arb award, flip as a rental if they are out of the hunt else another year to evaluate his next contract vs Kravtsov’s development.

Does he think that? It’s what you are assuming but without knowing the future we can’t say that for certain.

Extending him was never an option though. They're going to need those dollars now or later.

I don't think its Drury wanting Blais today which pushed the deal forward, I think its he wanted those dollars available now which did. Thats even more frightening.
