Corey Davis was a top 5-10 WR last year as ranked by PFF.

I explained why I have misgivings about Davis the other day....the injury proneness...inconsistancy...etc.

But I look very much forward to be proven wrong by Davis and that he turns out to be a star and finally lives up to his top 5 overall draft status...sincerely I do.

Right, but that was as a secondary target with AJ Brown.

I don't think that Davis will rank out in the top 10 this year.

With that said, I still love the signing as the price tag on him was quite reasonable since it's apparent that all teams view him a bit questionable as a primary target. I like it is a good bet by the Jets.

I don't think he's inconsistent. The Titans were 30th in pass attempts this year. 31th the year before. 31st the year before that. They're a run first team. That is naturally going to lead to receivers having ups and downs because of low volume.

1. Looks like Thuney to KC was gift wrapped on how fast it happened.

2. The Davis signing is low risk/high reward, but it also means Mosely's time is done.

3. I like this WR signing over Juju, which would've been a diaster.

4. I wanted Hendrickson from the Saints over Lawson but at least it's a solid signing.

5. Definitely keeping Darnold now. He would've been gone already.

I said it the other day that Douglas tipped his hand when we didn't get any of the stud O-lineman that he was sticking with Darnold for one more year and will trade down from the 2 slot and get as big a haul he can get. I'd be shocked now at this point if Douglas stayed at 2. I'd give it a 5% chance he does. We are moving down. Hopefully we get motherload.

hope Gettleman doesn't scare him away lol
We need the big Receiver target and obviously a clear #1 for us. Jones needs it.

What are your guys thoughts on still taking Smith/Waddle/Chase at #11 if we sign KG? I think they should. Shepard’s contract is for 3 more years with a possible out in 2 years that would carry $4 million in dead cap. I am not saying to get rid of Shep but he wont be here forever. Ross is likely short term piece. KG may only sign for 3-4 years too. Slayton is a UFA in 2 years too and may never peak with his potential. A talent like Waddle or Smith could be here for the next 7-8 years during Jones’ prime years.

On one hand I think the 2nd pick is gonna get a haul if they trade it. But on the other I really don’t see it with Darnold. At all.

You don't see what with Darnold? I'm a bit fuzzy about what you mean?

They will get a haul when they trade out of the 2 spot. If you mean you don't see it with Darnold. Well who do you think they'll have if and when they deal out of the 2? It's going to be Darnold IMO like it or not. Douglas has pretty much as I said tipped his hand.

I think I hit close to the mark about the target being Carolina or Denver with the trade for the 2 pick.

They are left now in this QB musical chairs this offseason.

IMO, the price should be 2021 1 and 2, and 2022 1 and 2. Unless either team is willing to give up a stud young starter.

So Douglas would have a cupboard of:

8th or 9th overall.
23rd overall.
2 2nd rounders in the top half.
2 3rds

And then...

3 2022 1st round picks.
2 2nd rounders.

And at 8 or 9, I would see Slater being the pick to start at RT, or another move down.

I don’t even see signs with Darnold. Plenty of QBs have battled bad coaching and weapons. It usually breeds inconsistent play but you see flashes often.

Darnold never takes over a game. Or has a great streak. A great game for him is like 14/27 for 205 and no INTs.

I’m fine saying he had a rough go. But you gotta show something. He looks progressively worse every year. He’s clueless out there.

Giants have enough holes I would still lean towards BPA at #11. But I expect the FO to go OL/CB or maybe edge if they sign Golladay. I expect Gettleman wants to fill as many holes as possible now. Not defending it but it's what I expect.

I'd trade him and sign a veteran QB who can start or backup (Alex Smith - who else is out there?). I think that the Jets not signing a QB by now is a sign they're not trading Sam as most options are gone.

I want Sam to get a fair shake one time.

We all knew that Gase was going to be a nightmare at jumpstreet. He has too much natural talent. Get him a real ground game (a staple of the Shannahan offense) and see how he works in a real structure.

Worst case scenario, were in the top 5 again next year and look for a QB.

I would have rather gone with Samuel if we were adding a slot WR and moving on from Crowder. I just love his versatility.

I like JuJu. But I don’t know with his personality I like him plus the guaranteed money over Crowder and his money due.
