Goaltending will eventually hurt the team if the plan is to run Schmid into the ground and the team chances in the playoffs really take a hit if Daws isn’t on the team because one AHL goalie won’t do it. He can’t play every game.

Mitens has played with a non-ECHL loaner as his back-up 3 times, with Daws on the bench once & Schmid twice. That’s 3 out of 21 AHL games.

His other games were his 8 game start streak with four different rando back-ups while Daws was out injured and Schmid was in NJ. (12/10 - 1/14)

Twice now a puck was loose on the half boards and a Comet races against a Sen to the puck. The Comet goes by the Sen and the Sen goes right by him with the puck and the Comet never touched the puck or the D-man. That's just pitiful defensive coverage. Both times a shot was surrendered.

Laberge centers the puck directly to a Sen inn the high slot.

Utica is getting absolutely caved in

Schmid bowled over and the Sens fail on a glorious chance, but it doesn't matter as a Sen walks right down between the dots and beat Schmid ontheir 10th shot. Comets still have just 1.

1-0 Sens.

Gambardella agets in clean onthe keeper and muffs a shot.

If they don't get their heads out of their asses real quick this one is going to be over quick.

Schmid 2 more huge saves and Laberge takes a penalty.

Comets to the PK.

Gauthier a good chnce also shjorthanded and the kid stops another. Penalyty is over and Laberge out of the box gets a good shot, but he is the farthest from a sniper there is in hockey.

1 period gone and the Comets lucky to only be down 1-0.

Belleville keeper tonight started the season at Acadia University of Nova Scotia (14 GP). This was his 4th season at Acadia. Canadian College hockey is not a normal source of high level pro hockey players.

The ECHL South Carolina Stingrays signed him out of Acadia. He played 6 gmes there (3.05/.886/1-4).

The Stingrays traded him to the ECHL Reading Royals. 6 GP 2.09/.932/5-0-1. He was loaned to the AHL Henderson Silver Knights, but didn't play

Now, he has been loaned to AHL Belleville. He has been in 1 game there in relief 4.21/.889/0-0-0.

Looks like a world beater so far tonight.
