Who do you think the team's backup goalie should be next season? Should we bring back Miller for a year, give the job to Stolarz, use our young goalie prospects, or dip into free agency?

Free agent goalies that could fit include Frederik Andersen, Devan Dubnyk, Antti Raanta, James Reimer, Petr Mrazek, Jonathan Bernier, David Rittich, Jaroslav Halak, Mike Smith, and Chris Driedger.

Because we have a lot of cap space, I would like us to use it to get a 1B type goalie like Rittich, Halak, or a reunion with Andersen and Bernier. I think Miller will retire, and even if he doesn't, I'm not sure I'd bring him back. I want to have 3 proven NHL goalies, so I would like to have Stolarz behind them so we won't need to worry if one of them gets injured. Let OEE and Dostal continue to excel for San Diego and at the deadline, we can move our free agent backup and give them looks down the stretch.

Miller I doubt comes back and any good free agent options will cost more than what you should pay a backup (we have been incredibly lucky to have Miller play for peanuts the last few years) so I would just go with Stolarz who has done well in the AHL and in his limited NHL time.

If we were closer to contending I would want someone more proven but this team is miles off and I would rather see us spend money on help up front than on a backup.

Stolarz. But I’d like him to get close to 50% of our remaining games just to feel a bit better about it.
If the plan is to go with Stolarz, I would actually like to see OEE and Dostal get games down the stretch. I want to see that one of them is a capable #3 at the NHL level, else I'll be worried about what we'll do if Gibson gets hurt.

I think if the plan was to go with Stolarz a vet who has NHL experience would be signed as the number three. OEE and Dostal are 20 and 21, there’s no need in rushing them to game action at this point as they shouldn’t be relied upon next year regardless.

Stolarz has had a few really good games at the NHL level. He seems the obvious choice, but as said above I'd also like him to get more time down the stretch if that's the route the team takes.

Out of the following who would be a good option, affordable, and want a backup role on a not so great team?

I love how everyone on here uses age to hold someone back

If you are good, you play, if you suck, you get sent down. Age has nothing to do with it. We all wanted to ease drysdale slowly, but he has the skills to play at this level and then some. We keep him up here even if he is 19.

stolarz would be my pick. i'd be surprised if miller doesn't retire after this season and i'd prefer stolarz over him anyways

like others have mentioned, i hope they give him more starts down the stretch

Unless something unforeseen happens that makes the Ducks contenders, I'd give Stolarz the chance. He's earned it and give Dostal/Eriksson Ek the net in San Diego. That saves money and rewards a guy who's shown the ability to be a backup (granted very limited). If he doesn't work out, then maybe look for someone else short term next off season. Next year's team probably isn't a contender, so letting Stolarz earn the backup won't hurt too much.

I like Stolarz as backup
Contract is good
If he continues to play well he increases his value assuming our younger prospects continue to shine
We need a decent third. And will likely have one. But we could possibly have a backup in Stolarz that might garner interest at the end of next yesr

Agree, though if next season's anything like this one, we'll having a hard time sneaking that guy through waivers.
