Just give me a deal with Calgary, followed by Strome going to Ottawa before 11:30 AM tomorrow.
God I hope so

I have a feeling the Calgary stuff is gonna end up like Buch/8th pick

Im still holding out hope for Eichel as irrational as it is lol

maybe he didn’t like the Quinn pick :sarcasm:

I love those types of players too...if they pan out. But I don't just assume they will because they had a high draft grade and have a physical profile.

I think we can say that about anyone.

We can make it for a forward who dances around a 16 year old defenseman. We can make it for a kid who blends in with adults in Europe.

But it usually only comes up when our team doesn't take the guy we like.

Referencing the multiple conversations from 2018-2020. In the 2018 that meant seperate deals. It also meant continued conversations around Kreider this winter as well.

With the talks on going with Calgary, do they remain focused on TDA, Buch from our side and Monohan and Hanifin on calgary's?

I really don't think at this point the Rangers have any intention of moving Georgiev. We're going to sign him. The guy that they're looking to move is Strome. We may move DeAngelo too or we may wait a year. Of the reasons for moving both of them--they're both at the point where they're looking at both term and serious $'s.
I'd move Strome.
Keep ADA unless you're getting a Krebs+Tuch type package.
I'm surprised the Buch rumors have died down. Maybe he could build even more trade value this season

It could be a domino that frees up another RHD for a trade. But that’s also not a great reason to draft someone necessarily either.

I was surprised by Schneider but the consensus from the team after the play in was that we weren't a hard enough team to play against. Our D physically being one of the weakest in the league.

Sure, but Schneider also isn’t going to help that for at least 2-3 years.

Imagine if the Rangers picked 13th and landed Jarvis and later Schneider

Relax, the Rangers landed the best player in the draft

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though. I don't know if there was a plug and play prospect on the board at 19, or 22 for that matter.

But I also think he's not as far off as some might think. He's an older player, like Lafreniere, and next season will be Schneider's fourth full season in the WHL (and fifth season overall if you count the 1 game peak he got back in 2017).

He'll be a pro in about 6-8 months.

Exactly. "Imagine the Rangers landed 20 firsts this season." We got the first pick. Everything else is f***ing GRAVYYYYYYYYY

I don't know about that. Talk was the Leafs were going to draft him and stick him right in their lineup. He plays a kind of uncomplicated game and if there is one thing that coaches like from a player it's knowing what they're going to get night after night. Kind of like what Lindgren does and he's already big enough and strong enough.

No pick they made at 22 was going to help next year.
For sure. I’m not saying that. What I am saying is if justification for Schneider is that he will make the team harder to play again; that is not something that he will be able to help the team with right away. They need that now.

Blues fan coming in peace! I just wanted to say that I really liked both your picks in the first round, and I really like what the Rangers organization has done so far. I think the Rangers will be a real powerhouse soon. Good luck going forward, and great job!

Thank you, I'll take the credit on behalf of the organization and the fan base and wish the Blues well in return.
