I'm not a fan of taking defensive defenseman in the first round. Those picks rarely work out. These kinds of players can also be had much later in the draft.

I don't believe that, but it's your opinion and I respect it. Schneider type guys don't get moved from teams. You either draft them or you search every offseason for one.

They would've had it not been for the push they were making. I don't blame Gorton for holding him, especially with him being an RFA this offseason. UFA? Different story.

Most teams judge EU kids based on WJC and u18s. Gunler didn't play in those tournaments.
