It was a good year to have a lucky ping pong ball.
He's right there with Matthews/Eichel/Dahlin. The best winger prospect since Kane/Ovi.I was thinking about this before.
Where does Lafreniere rank amongst the top draftees from the past 10 drafts?
Obviously not as good as McDavid or Kane but better than some others like Yakupov for sure.
Lindros, naturally, was the obvious first pick in the 1991 NHL entry draft, but did not want to play for the Quebec Nordiques, who owned that pick. It was less about the culture and the city as it was about co-owner Marcel Aubut and whether they could maximize Lindros’ marketing potential in that market.
I'm sure players like Brian Leetch, Mark Messier and Adam Graves couldn't have cared any less about the Rangers growing up or before they got here as players. After they spent their time here, they are some of the organization's biggest cheerleaders.
Almost always, no matter what your allegiances were, everything changes once you step through that door. Lindros was a special case. From a Sportsnet article:
There is more that went into it but I look at this way. Do you think Sidney Crosby wanted to play in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of all places!?!?
Man, it's going to be grueling waiting for the season to re-start. Might be another 50 years before we get to draft another first overall, let alone draft on after picking #2 the season prior
Panarin-Zib-Laf on the PP... holy smokes that's going to be fun to watch. I almost feel bad for the other teams
even the best powerplay fails 7/10 timesBut you're talking about OUR power play, which can implode instantaneously for no reason at all.
even the best powerplay fails 7/10 times
Yea PP failure isn't just down to whether you score.Yeah, but ours tend to do a lot of 2 minutes of nothing, no entry, no zone time, not shooting. Those types of things.

From what I’ve seen a lot of people have him pegged 40-60 points.I’m going to say 40 points from him this year. Sort of keeping my expectations in check. That’s better than some recent 1OAs but not going off like Auston Matthews.

Isn’t that wild? There’s LESS people on the ice! I’m being completely serious this has always boggled my mind.even the best powerplay fails 7/10 times
That’s nothing. Our 2-man advantages fail at least 7/10 times too, and that’s being generous.Isn’t that wild? There’s LESS people on the ice! I’m being completely serious this has always boggled my mind.
