My point is we were playing bad teams close we couldn't bring up anything other than "we lost". We couldn't bring up almost beating them, we couldn't bring up that they were good teams. All that mattered was that we lost. Now that we're winning we have to look at the circumstances. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Quite frankly its amazing that some feel the need to tell other fans how to feel about their team as if their word is law. And when events happen in favor of the Giants we are not allowed to be happy. They just beat one of the better teams in football yesterday and some clown on an internet forum claims they are still a bad team because he says so. The wins dont count because they were against bad teams. Beat a good team yesterday and it was clearly just some mistake. No way could have the team been building towards a win like that. Its a shock. Even though all season we have seen how good this defense is, through the losses and the wins. We have been seeing the O-Line has been improving. But none of that matters. They went out and won yesterday with a great defense that we as Giants fans have been aware of. They are no perfect team, no super bowl contender, but they are a bad team because some Jets fan says so.

Who is "We?" I do not recall commenting on the Giants prior to the last couple of days. Upon searching my post history, I did not make a single post regarding the 2020 Giants season this season prior to today. I once mentioned Barkley/Jones/Darnold regarding the draft. So your "We" has absolutely nothing to do with me.

Oh and btw, every year teams beat bad teams to make the playoffs. This is not a concept invented by the Giants. SA, the ultimate contrarian who is always the smartest guy in the room.

I do agree with the bolded text though.

In a way I'm happy the Redskins beat the Steelers. At the same time, the Giants' path to making the playoffs got quite a bit tougher. The Giants at least have the tiebreaker.

the steelers might have been the worst undefeated team ive seen. horrific offensive game plan and receivers cant catch coronavirus if they tried.

It was a common argument against the Giants when they were giving teams like the Rams all they could handle. Who cares? All that matters is winning. If you didn't make the comments directly it's implied by the fact that you're shitting on them for beating bad teams without bringing up that they've been really close to beating good teams earlier in the season.

As a Giants fan I should have been rooting for the Steelers last night but I was so tired of every Tom, Dick and Harriet reporter (sic) showing how f***ing clever they were by dumping on the NFC East that I sorta enjoyed Washington winning.

By the way, Seattle won the NFC West with a 7-9 record in 2010.
They also won a playoff game.

I made a good bit of money on the game last night. I had put some down on Washington last week and then put some more down after the Giants won and the odds didn't really shift. Just had that gut feeling.

Trap games, baby.

If Gase really was the one who fired GW which is what has been reported, that would be very concerning to me and it should be concerning to every other Jet fan as well.

Having the power to fire someone, would lead me to believe that if Gase, who should be dead man walking and feel fortunate he still has a job as he's been so abysmal at it, still has the power to fire someone, could mean that Gase has enough trust from the Johnson's, that he might still have enough clout with the Johnson's, that him getting canned after the season isn't a sure thing.

The only thing that gives me pause to these terrifying thoughts going on in my head, is that the Jets consistently do things ass backwards with the classic case in point letting Maccagnon go shopping two years ago at the draft, spending zillions on FA's and than getting fired a week later.

So it's shit like this where tho things may look like on the surface that things look one way that Gase still has clout, in reality because the Jets are so dysfunctional and the way the decision making process is set up with both the coach and GM reporting separately to ownership, the reality is quite likely 180 degrees different.

Let's just hope and pray this GW firing was a one off and that Gase will still be saying sayanora after the season ends because the alternative of the Johnson's keeping Gase on is absolutely terrifying and one which I don't even want to get into it's so distressing...:help:

I'm a Giants fan, so I don't really have skin in the game, but the HC needs to be able to fire anyone beneath him. A zero blitz on a hail mary is literally unprecedented.

Even in a lost season, the players still want to win. Your DC robbed everyone on that team of a 99% chance to win if he had just sat back and played prevent. Most of those players are still going to be on the roster next season. He had to be fired if you want any semblance of a culture next season.

Listen to this if you get a few mins. It cleared up a few questions I had and makes a lot of sense.

Williams had to go. For the players. You could see how distraught they were. And a lot of them came right out after the game with their distrust of GW. It was a dumb call and the players sure as hell don’t want to be 0-16. They’re humiliated.

I have no problem firing him but the play was hardly unprecedented. The Cardinals did it in the playoffs in 2015 against the Packers.

Also I doubt this play call was nearly as bad as it seems. According to this article (The evolution of the Hail Mary: The perfect throw -- and how to defend it) since 2009 Hail Mary's have been successful 16/193 times (8.2%) and that is almost all while playing prevent.

OK I feel a bit better not alot but a little bit. Thx for posting this.

I trust Brian Costello and always have since he's been on the Jet beat I dunno before Rex got here I believe.

Anyways, if what he says is true than I do feel a bit relieved that this was just a "one off" like I eluded to in my previous comment and that Gase will be gone no doubt after the season.

A bigtime "phew" as I wipe the sweat from my forehead after listening to this...lol
