Not that I'm planning any parades, but Eli was only in year 3 and had a tremendous defense for his first SB.

Yea, I wouldn’t plan any parades.

Daniel Jones hasn’t shown anything of the sort yet, and one win does not make the Giants defense ‘tremendous.’

I think before you say the Giants are "trending up" you really need to look at the schedule. The Jets did the exact same thing last year. They started 1-7 and ended 7-9. But everyone knew it was because they had an insanely weak schedule to end the year. They had some big wins (17 over Washington, 31 over Oakland). What did it mean? Nothing. They played bad teams and beat them. It doesn't mean they were good or getting better or anything of the sort.
And yesterday was just an aberration of the 'losers beating losers' theory, gotcha.

Did I not say "This week they played well." a few posts ago?
I don't care if you mention it or not, the point is that the Giants are not like last year's Jets, 'losers beating losers' which your post implied, which you should know because you mentioned it a few posts back.

The combined record of the teams the Giants beat, prior to Seattle, was 13-31-2. Including Seattle it is 21-35-2. So yea, I'd pretty much would say it is "losers beating losers." The Giants win over Seattle is more impressive (in terms of quality of opponent) than any Jet win was last year.

Daniel Jones has shown a ton and the defense has been tremendous all year. You obviously don't know much about football. The Giants defense has been on the field a lot because the OL wasn't mature yet and couldn't run the ball. The fact they were rated a top 10 defense before Seattle was incredible. Jones threw twice as many TD's his first year as INT's which almost never happens with a true rookie. Players like Rodgers and Mahomes sat their first season or for a few seasons and came onto strong teams. Jones has shown he can make every throw, is a tremendous running threat, is very accurate and can move the ball on almost every team. His issue simply was getting Duke out of his head. There he had no talent and had to try to force every play to get a win. He's finally learning he actually has good talent around him now and doesn't need to do that. He started to get a running game the last 3 games he played and the turnovers immediately stopped. What a freakin shock.

Nahhh they arent trending upward. If they lost those games they would be trashed. They win the games and they still dont count. Damned if you do, damned if you dont. I will let some Jets fans opinions be just that, their opinions. Not gona be told how my team isnt doing well or what direction their trending despite the facts of some of the positives such as their stout defense which just shutdown DK Metcalf and Russel Wilson.

Aberration
ab·er·ra·tion
noun
  1. a departure from what is normal, usual, or expected, typically one that is unwelcome.
Giants wins over teams with a winning record in 2020 prior to this week: 0
Giants wins over teams who ended with a winning record in 2019: 0
Giants wins over teams who ended with a winning record in 2018: 2
Giants wins over teams who ended with a winning record in 2017: 1

So yes. It literally was an aberration. It was something they did 3 times in their last 59 games and 0 times in their last 31.

Some of you must watch football games with your eyes closed. McKinney was a huge loss for the Giants. He was a beast in college. They lost at least 3 maybe 4 close games because of the free safety position early. Once Ryan learned the position, the secondary started to flourish. Loosing Barkley despite Gallman doing well probably cost them more early wins. He's a game breaker even with a lousy OL. Giants lost 4-5 games by just a few points. The Giants have outplayed some of the better teams in the league when they have played them. They just had a lot of young players who needed more coaching and experience. The team now is completely different than what they were the first 5-6 games.

"The playcall was unprecedented in recent NFL history. According to research by ESPN Stats & Information, out of the 252 pass plays attempted under similar circumstances in the past 15 seasons, the Jets were the only defense to send more than six rushers."

LOL.

Thank you Gregg, we will never forget your sacrifice

Great time to be a fan of New York teams. New York Jets getting the next best QB The 8-8 New York Football Giants winning the Super Bowl against the 16-0 Pittsburgh Steelers while beating Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers along the way. What a time to be alive!

Once again. "Almost wins" didn't count because all that matters are wins. Now actual wins don't matter because they were against bad teams. So losses are losses but wins aren't wins. Your points aren't as genius as you think they are. You're consistently inconsistent.

Tate will not be back neither will solder.

I'm not super sure on the details, but unfortunately Solder opting out means his contract slides and he will still have two years left on his deal when next season begins. From what I understand the cap hit would be brutal to buy him out with 2 seasons left. His contract will sadly be on the Giants books next season at least.

What are you talking about? I never said any of their wins didn't count. I said they won against bad teams. That is an indisputable fact. I also said they are a bad team benefitting being being in a historically bad division. They have one win against a team over .500 the last two years and it was the Seahawks last week. The Giants, who are currently in a playoff spot, currently have the T-17th best odds to win the Super Bowl (DK Sportsbook), which is behind several teams that aren't currently in playoff position, so clearly the people putting money on this don't believe that they're any good either.

So having McKinney, who had never played a snap in the NFL, would have meant the giants won 3-4 of those early games, but Logan Ryan, currently in his 8th season, needed 4 games to learn the position?

On top of you posting this:
"Daniel Jones has shown a ton and the defense has been tremendous all year. You obviously don't know much about football. The Giants defense has been on the field a lot because the OL wasn't mature yet and couldn't run the ball. "

Daniel Jones currently has less TDs than Dak Prescott. He almost single-handily cost them the Tampa Bay game. Jones has 8 tds and 9 interceptions this year.

I think you should probably think twice about telling people they don't know much about football going forward.

Giants handed the Jets Sam Darnold and Williams hands them Trevor Lawrence.

This place went from “the Giants are as bad as the Jets” to “the giants are actually really good” so fast I’m having trouble keeping up.
Yeah can you imagine the implosion if Russell Wilson beat the Giants on a hail mary the way the Raiders beat the Jets?

that’s the difference between killing Dave Gettleman and reading elsewhere how the fans owe him an apology despite a 14-30 record lol.

Can see Gettleman sporting a Giants 2020 NFC East Champion t-shirt with 6-10 record lol. Kicking tail everyday!!!!

Gotta love it.

The Engram int lol

it’s such a shame the idiot Giants lost their way and failed to build Eli an OL for 8/9 years. They literally took a Super Bowl team and rebuilt Archie Manning’s Saints for Eli.

Nice highlights to see. Demonstrating Football 101 is refreshing.

My point is we were playing bad teams close we couldn't bring up anything other than "we lost". We couldn't bring up almost beating them, we couldn't bring up that they were good teams. All that mattered was that we lost. Now that we're winning we have to look at the circumstances. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Oh and btw, every year teams beat bad teams to make the playoffs. This is not a concept invented by the Giants. SA, the ultimate contrarian who is always the smartest guy in the room.
