LOL! I love it. Gread dick move by the eagles,
Zero to be gained in winning. Losing and screwing the Giants is more fun.
I must say their players have played hard but obviously the personnel decisions are questionable.

I think Philly has found out everything they need to know about Sudfeld.
And W is doing everything in its power to make Philly win this game.

Except this helps the Giants. The Giants got some of their young guys some experience earlier today in a "must win" situation. This game tonight was a win-win situation, and I can guarantee you that the better outcome here was to have a higher draft pick rather than get their doors blown off next weekend by the Bucs.

Then we should have rooted for a loss, which I was kind of halfway there. We get 11th now which is good but not great.

Ill take it as a Washington fan.It wasn't pretty, but the experience for the youngsters will only help in the long run

This is the finale this division deserved lmfao

worst Division ever. Eagles benching the roster and Washington trying to give away the Division.

Moving forward -
- Washington doesn’t have a QB and will pick later now

-the Eagles according to WIP, needed to see if they have a backup to Hurts (although Hurts looked bad) b/c they will part ways with Wentz and wreck their cap.

- Giants need to resign two DL for a fortune and flex Barkley’s 5th year option to maintain the status quo and wreck their cap

- Cowboys need to resign Prescott so their cap is a mess

lol

That was really really bad. National tv, throwing a game. Yikes. Every gambling partner the league is with now was calling Goodell off the hook furious last night too. Lol.

Giants fan or not, it could not have been more obvious that the Eagles were tanking. Its better off for the Giants to pick higher in the long run, but that game last night was an outrage. An investigation needs to be opened for match fixing. This could have been avoided by playing the games yesterday at the same time. Soccer does this in order to avoid just this because they've had problems with match fixing.

It's just ridiculous that they tanked to move up a whopping 3 spots in the draft (6th, would have drafted 9th w/a win).

I'm a firm believer in football karma. To quote Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game."

I'm sure some fans were thrilled with a slightly higher pick, but the players, by and large, are ultra-competitive and want to win. That drive is why they've made it to the NFL in the first place. This kind of shit poisons an organization. I can guarantee the players aren't going to forget that their coach took away a chance to win and end the season on a positive note.

However, I don't think there's any way you can prove the Eagles threw the match. Even though everyone and their mom knows it was tanking, their excuse that they wanted to see what they had in a 27 year old journeyman can't really be disproven.

One thing I will say is that you as a coach don't pull that kind of shit without Ownership and the GM being 100% behind it. It's disgraceful.

The Giants didn’t deserve to make the playoffs, and the NFC East is just awful. But, I love seeing Pederson getting called out. As Ranger fans have learned, sometimes you just go about your business and let the chips fall where they may.

Eh, I'm not a proponent of tanking but you can't use a league with a lottery as an example here. Different circumstances.

I don't think that would have changed anything. They mentioned during the broadcast how they would not get an answer from Petersen about pulling Hurts if the game was close. The Eagles had nothing to play for. Baseball does it on the last day of the season where the games are all at 3:10 EST. Team specifically don't throw their best guy and shut dudes down all the time for the last game due to the grind of the season.

If they felt that way, Hurts should have been sat the entire time. But, if Hurts gets sacked in that 4th quarter and get injured and jeopardizes next season for them, Eagles fans would be downright pissed. It's clear they are going to him to be QB1 next season. Wentz is gone. He didn't play so they can cut him or trade him. That's my biggest gripe. If they didn't want him getting hurt, don't play him at all. Start Sudfeld the entire time. The way it was handled was awful, not the fact that Sudfeld played, it was when he got into the game and how the game played out.

If Washington was up 35-10, sure, take Hurts out. There is no reason to play him at that point. This was a 6 point game where Hurts could get the chance to go out there against a really good defense and lead a 4th quarter comeback and spoil their season. It doesn't matter who on the other side is reaping the benefit of it.

Now, they get the 6th pick instead of the 9th pick and maybe they get someone that wouldn't have made it to 9 or they can trade down/up to get more picks or their guy, but if the Jets didn't explicitly tank this season to get #1 after being 0-13, there is no excuse for anyone to intentionally throw a game they are in.

Although I see talent for Darnold to be a good QB, I have taken all his critics notes to heart, and re-evaluated; while it is a correctable flaw, his decision making vis a vis interceptions has to go.

I remain ADAMANT that we take Sewell at 2.
I do not nec want to risk a high pick guy who is not a virtual guarantee, like Laurence,
We MUST take Sewell at 2, he will not fall.

Here is what I propose, listen carefully NYJ braintrust:

1. Draft Sewell at 2OA

2. Do
Darnold + Seattle 2021 1st + NYJ 2022 1st (unprotected)
for
Wentz + PHI 2021 1st [=6OA]

Eagles get enough upside and profit, move on from Wentz and his $ which is another 3 years. Get Darnold cheap for a yr to see if more than a stopgap. Still pick 1st round, get a pick next year, which could be a good one.

Jets grab Sewell do not suffer opportunity cost taking a QB instead. Can see who is available at 6; can look at a team like SF at 14 that may give up starting OT + 1st rounder + to move up to 6. We can draft a guy mid 1st or even later and groom him into a starter. Wentz we can work with, or deal with retaining if we need him off the roster.

somethin like dat^!
