The truth is somewhere in between. The Giants are finding their way, with bright spots and noticeable hiccups mixed tigether. Knee jerk Giants fans with zero patience come out after every loss, and disappear after a win. Strange how that works.

Given where they were last year, this season has absolutely shown good team progress overall. The one potential concern is the lack of clear progression from Daniel Jones. I won't knock him any further for this past week. He was obviously hurt. I don't think they called a single RPO play and that has been their bread and butter for several weeks now. He didn't have a single rushing attempt. Overall, he's been a good game manager for stretches with an ability to have a game breaking run or play, and a turnover machine during other stretches. It could honestly go either way, but it's just too early to tell which way it goes. If I had to bet money, I think he'll be a good QB you can with with, but if hoping for a top 3-5 QB in the league I don't think that's in the cards.

I'm just breaking chops. Part of the issue is that the division is so bad that I doubt anyone considered the fact they could be bad, but also in contention.

The NFC East teams seem to have progressed to a point where they still generally suck, but have improved enough to beat mediocre teams and score the occasional big upset.

WFT's defensive front is legitimately terrifying, by the way.

@Maximus. With you on the Darnold sentiments. You cant, absolutely CANNOT throw a kid to QB position (especially playing in NY) and expect MIRACLES.

Little to NO offensive talent surrounding him, but what is WORSE, is the coaching. IDC how many times Darnold supports Gase......he is a LOSER! Him and his whole staff. Get rid of the whole lot of them, keep Darnold and trade down and FILL multiple positions with that #1.

OTHERWISE, its ring around the mulberry QUARTERBACK. A forever turnstile. Also, bring back Rex Ryan for JUST defensive coach. He was on TV, so obviously s looking for a job, thats what they do, TV and advertising. Did u see that he ripped Williams with that COVER 0? Guarantee, he wants to be back.

Yeah that’s all valid. This seems to be the universal opinion on him from what I hear. Everyone podcast or NFL show i watch everyone seems to say he’s still full of potential and a good org can manage him.

Hopefully they’re able to get good value for him if they need to trade him. Sounds like there would be interest. Colts would be a good spot for him.
The Jets aren't a good organization.

So upsetting to see what happened to Darnold. Had such high hopes for him, and more than that, he seems like such a great kid, the Jets ruined his career and now he looks like he's going to have a hard time bouncing back from this, even if he goes to a better team. QBs can be permanently ruined we've seen it many times.

It just sucks. I wish they'd bench him for the rest of the season, for his own sake.

IMO, that unit can be well on it's way to being the best in the NFL. Wow are they good. And that is without Ioandis, who may be the most underrated of the entire bunch. And it is not just the line. That entire front 7 is very good.

There is a lot of work for Rivera to do still, but IF they get into the playoffs, that one defense that I am going to garner a guess that no one is going to want to face.

I think the Browns' D line gives theirs a run for their money now that Garrett is back.

Seeing Baker this year compared to last year tells me how important coaching is. Jones has been very disappointing but he regressed beyond recognition this year. Garrett HAS to go.

why is it the coach’s fault? I don’t recall Jones being awesome last season while Garrett has been around the league for years.

Poor David Carr :(

I'm so glad we beat WFT in that meaningless game in the Chase Young bowl.

Boy does Andrew Thomas look like such a better prize. /sarcasm

Is it Garrett's fault that the WRs are almost completely unable to get open?

Slayton has been ass. Tate is old. Shep looks like the injuries are catching up to him. The only real threat is Engram and we all know how hit-and-miss he is.

This all goes back to the utterly laughable attempt at "building" the roster.

In the span of a week we've gone from the Giants being secretly good because of their record (and win over a good team) to being actually bad? For what it's worth they have the 2nd worst point differential in the NFC while being in the softest division. As I said, they're a bad team benefitting from being in a historically weak division.

Revised "Scared" Rankings for Jets taking into account all that occurred this past weekend with 5/5 being pertrified and 1/5 being a cakewalk.

Rams this Sunday I'm at 1/5. Should be easy peasy for LA as they have both the division still up for grabs with Seattle and they are still in the mix for home field throughout playoffs just one game back of the Packers and Saints. Not a chance in hell they take the Jets lightly.

Browns I'm at 2/5. I was alot more worried about this game until I saw last night's game vs Ravens. Baker once again was great and so I'm convinced now...he's really good and won't be pulling a Fitzpatrick and imploding vs the Jets. Also with Browns at 9-4 tied with Indy and with the Ravens and Titans both at 8-5, Browns need to keep their foot on the gas pedal and will not take Jets lightly. Yeah Cleveland is a cursed franchise but it looks like they've turned the corner as that team is uber talented. They should take care of Jets fairly easily.

Patriot game to end the season I'm at 4/5. Nothing has changed as the Patriots represent the biggest threat to us having Trevor Lawrence behind center next season. I still would be really surprised if the hoodie benched Cam and the rest of his starters because it's not his style nor MO to do that. He plays all out even when his team has a home field in playoffs locked up and so why would he do it now? Well, his hatred for the Jets and the fact if he can screw them and not have to deal with Lawrence twice a year for next decade does worry me. The Patriots not being a good football team worries me even more as even the putrid Jets could beat the Patriots even if Bill doesn't rest his starters. So yeah, this game worries me the most no question.

Real quickly...the Jags have the Ravens this Sunday. NO chance in hell the Jags are winning that game. The following game vs the Bears gives us Jet fans the best chance of the remaining games for the Jags to win. The Bears will still be 7+ point favorites and probably will win but the Bears could implode especially Trubisky and so we all need to hope that occurs. The final game vs the Colts...no shot for Jags. Indy has playoff seeding still going on and they will not be swept by the Jags.

All in all we have a damn good shot here at going 0-16...I'm feeling good that we will accomplish our goal. It would be nice tho if the Jags could beat the Bears tho so we can don't have too worry about what Belichek does in week 17.

We shalt see soon enough.

You guys are basically rooting for an undefeated team this year. You probably started hoping for a tank at like 0-4, so you have 12 weeks of winning football PLUS Lawrence most likely. That's what I call a good year.
