It’s so bad even Geno smith is beating the jets.
I feel bad for the guys. It's not like they've quit. To me it looks like they're still playing. They just have, like, one-third of an actual NFL team and then a bunch of guys who should be fourth on a depth chart, on the practice squad, or not even in the league.

True. Gase’s mammoth suckitude kind of obscured the fact that the team has almost zero talent

Man, what a brutal team. They literally need every position on the field, with the exception of LT. If they keep Maye, SS/FS is fine too, but this is the least talented team I've seen in forever AND they have the worst coach in the league

Anthony Lynn says hello. His teams suck yet has a ton of talent.

Jets officially locked up a top 3 pick today. 1 more loss or Bengals win will lock in the top 2 pick.

Well, another game the Giants lose where the lack of talent across the roster, and particularly relative to the team they were playing against, is exposed.

Other than Saquon, the biggest injury this team is dealing with is Lorenzo Carter - a "project" 3rd round pick who's yet to actually deliver on the field - and somehow we still have a bottom 5 roster across the entire NFL.

And yet... there are still people who sing Gettleman's praises and want to bring him back for another year.

The Giants are back on track for their 4th top 10 pick during Gettleman's time running this team.

The Giants might be destined for QB hell.

Many top 10 picks over the years and could be stuck with a mediocre QB. Coming up, ignore the defense again and get him weapons . . . then add more weapons . . . and the years removed from 2011 are already at a decade with no end in site.

He's done a lot of good things. The Jones pick is hard to gauge because he looked so good for the most part last year but this year, not that good.

A lot of good things? What good things?

DL - He drafted one DT. Otherwise he traded for FA who he needed to franchise and inherited Tomlinson. Otherwise he stripped the team of all their 4-3 personnel

Linebacker has been a revolving door with Golden setting the stage for today’s beating

DB- he found a 27 year old Bradberry after losing three high picks on Baker. Collins out and Peppers in is a wash at best yet a mega dead money loss b/c of the OBJ fiasco.

QB - he botched the cap and Eli’s last year and Jones is looking a bit like Dave Brown

HB - another fiasco. Flex the 5th year option already for Barkley? What choice does he have?

WR - botches the OBJ contract and then gives Shepherd a 4 year $41 million dollar contract with $21 million guaranteed yet Shep has never even broke 900 yards in a season.

OL - does it look fixed? How many botches has he made there?

Head Coach - botched one coach and on to another

Gettleman has had the #2 (Barkley) #6 (Jones) and #4 (Thomas) picks in the draft along with a #17 (Lawrence) and #30 (Baker) and also obtained Peppers who was a #1 pick while shipping out and destroying the cap with OBJ, JPP, Eli and multiple Free agents.

All of the above equates to a record of 14 wins and 30 losses which is a winning percentage of .350. That’s 14 wins out of 44 games.

Not sure if stating the obvious makes me a hater but with few signs of all the good things he’s done i have to wonder what they are.

As far as the Jet game, didn't see the game as I was playing golf and than happy hour but was keeping tabs on the game.

Looks like it was obviously a stress free loss...sweet.

Next week vs the Rams should also be a nice and tidy stress free loss.

It's after that, the games vs the Browns and Patriots which could produce some significant agida!

It’s been said before, but there is something about the fact that the Jets are going to draft a QB at #1 when it’s arguably the one position they are already set at. I am worried
Lawrence will struggle for the same reasons Darnold does.

I envy Jets fans. I'd rather go 0-16 and get Lawrence than be stuck with Jones.

I would not. The Jets literally need help at every position sans LT and one of their safeties if they keep Maye. They'll get Lawrence, but still need at least 1 RB, 2 WRs, TE, all interior OL and RT, a new group of OLB, multiple corners, and 2-3 DL. If Mosley is retained and still very good, they still need another MLB. It's a complete joke and the only way you should be envious is if you want a team with a near clean slate.

The issue with Darnold isn't just the line or weapons though. The knocks on him coming out of college haen't been fixed. He makes some really awful decisions and panics under pressure. Happy feet. He's got the Sanchez look to him. Some of that is down to a bad line. But even with time, he makes some awful throws. He doesn't see the coverage, or misses a safety lurking. You can't blame all of that on the the weapons/line.

I think the good news for the Jets is the cap is going to drop yet the Jets, unlike many teams, will still have a lot of space.

Lawrence is going to be great and now the Jets get to reset the clock. The LT is set and adding another lineman would be huge. Have no idea how the Jets can’t find a HB when they’re everywhere. IMO, unless you can stop the run or rush the QB it doesn’t matter who is playing CB. Help up front and almost any CB has a chance. No help up front and nobody can cover anybody regardless of skill.

Jets are in the talent basement yet have a lot of company looking at these NFL rosters. A Lawrence sets them apart immediately and the clock resets. It’s as good and bad a position to be in today yet those teams stuck with a questionable QB have less light than the Jets will soon have.

This is all true, but not only has he had a terrible line, and no weapons, he has had terrible coaching. How is an incredibly young, incredibly raw QB supposed to develop under those circumstances? At least with Sanchez, in the beginning, he had weapons and a line. He had Schottenheimer and Bill Callahan working the offense instead of Adam Gase and Dowell Loggains or whoever the f*** our OC is. Sanchez was at least given a chance. I mean Geno Smith walked into a better situation than Darnold.

I do absolutely agree that he does a lot of things wrong that are on him, but I still don't really blame him for that as he has been given NOTHING in terms of personnel or infrastructure to work with. Literally no chance for him to ever develop.

you guys gotta make up your mind.

every 4 games it's either Giants fans arguing they're as bad as the Jets - somehow trying to take the lead in misery, or arguing that they're actually good and no on respects them.

Yeah that’s all valid. This seems to be the universal opinion on him from what I hear. Everyone podcast or NFL show i watch everyone seems to say he’s still full of potential and a good org can manage him.

Hopefully they’re able to get good value for him if they need to trade him. Sounds like there would be interest. Colts would be a good spot for him.

Put Sam on the Colts with that excellent O-line and solid weaponry and under the tutelage of Frank Reich and maybe even Phillip Rivers if he decides to stick around to mentor him ala Josh McCown did Sam's rookie year, Darnold becomes one of the best QB's in the AFC.

And what's funny is us Jet fans already know this as it's not even a question about it that Sam will end up being the QB we thought we were drafting out of USC 3 years ago. All of a sudden those bad decision he makes now won't happen anymore as he'll have an extra second or two to go thru his reads and progressions.

All of a sudden those errant throws he makes a times here won't happen as much because his receivers will catch alot of those off target throws. All of a sudden Darnold won't have such happy feet as he'll have pockets that won't be collapsing on him after one or two seconds.

But and this is the key, hopefully Sam coming into his own won't matter and we can be happy for him...I know I would be happy for him and not rue the day we dealt him away, if he became very successful, so long as Lawrence eventually becomes the 2nd coming of John Elway. We shalt see soon enough.

i wish the Jaguars would win a freakin game.

LOL...it aint happening unfortunately for us. Not a chance in hell the Jags are beating the Ravens, Bears and Colts.

Now I will say that the Bear game could be an opportunity for the Jags to pull off an upset. But even that game the Bears will very likely be TD favorites and have an 80-85% chance to win that game.

It can be argued that the Jags talent on their roster just might be worse than ours. I know hard to believe but when I look at their team, the only players who would be bonafide no question about it starters here IMO would be WR DJ Chark who is uber talented...James Robinson would be awesome if he were our RB and Tyler Eifert would be a bit upgrade at TE over the enormously disappointing Chris Herndon...that is it folks on offense. I'm not all too up to date on their O-line to be honest but when I look at their names, no one sticks out to me as a guy who is a difference maker.

As far as defensively, give me Miles Jack and Josh Allen and I'd be a very happy camper...I think we all would be as those two are absolute studs!. But that's it there on that side of the ball. The Jags are simply abominable and they need as much if not more work than we do to get their team relevant again.

I know I've been saying this for over a month now the Jags are not going to help us out and win a game. The Jets still have two more games vs the Browns and Patriots which are going to keep us Jet fans up at night worrying about and so once the Rams game is over, I know I'll be buying me some additional rolaid bottles for those Brown and Patriots games....lol

The truth is somewhere in between. The Giants are finding their way, with bright spots and noticeable hiccups mixed tigether. Knee jerk Giants fans with zero patience come out after every loss, and disappear after a win. Strange how that works.

Given where they were last year, this season has absolutely shown good team progress overall. The one potential concern is the lack of clear progression from Daniel Jones. I won't knock him any further for this past week. He was obviously hurt. I don't think they called a single RPO play and that has been their bread and butter for several weeks now. He didn't have a single rushing attempt. Overall, he's been a good game manager for stretches with an ability to have a game breaking run or play, and a turnover machine during other stretches. It could honestly go either way, but it's just too early to tell which way it goes. If I had to bet money, I think he'll be a good QB you can with with, but if hoping for a top 3-5 QB in the league I don't think that's in the cards.
