It doesn't matter how perfect your throws are if no one's there to catch them.

It's absurd to even debate this. I get that Mahomes boy is a bigtime fanboy of the real Mahomes but to discount the fact that he has withought question the most lethal collection of weapons in the NFL is ridiculous not too mention being in the most inovative offense in the league with the most creative offensive coach in the league.

And than to compound this ridiculousness and insinuate that if Mahomes played with the Jets with the pathetic weaponry that the Jets have along with a coach who hasn't a clue that Mahomes would be just as good as he is now because he's well he's "Mahomes", well I have to question one's ability too see things objectively.

Put Mahomes on the Jets and he's good not great. Put Darnold on KC and he's very good instead of being mediocre.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. I’m not trying to come in here and rub your faces in it, but y’all need Jesus on this one. Mahomes is transcendant. End of discussion. Putting him in the same sentence as Darnold is just disrespectful, let alone suggesting he’d be better than Mahomes under any circumstance. I could write 15 paragraphs on why your premise is ridiculous but clearly you are set in your beliefs.

you’d think by now Jets fans would at least be good at pretending HOFers aren’t that good after 20 years of Brady. Weak effort.

Jackson can’t pass, though. He’s inaccurate, his timing isn’t great, he has below average touch, and he doesn’t have the arm strength to hit outs or comebacks.

even His throws to wide open guys are sketchy.

hes Mitch Trubisky with a 4.2 and a great OC.

He's the definition of a system QB, with any other OC he'd be a forgettable player. People now seem to think that because of this one outlier he's the QB of the future. Until he learns how to be a real QB he won't win shit. I really don't like his game. He's Vick with a better OC.
Really looking forward to the Browns’ rematch with the Ravens. Cleveland’s gotten progressively better over the first 3 games of the year, improved from being outclassed in game 1 against Baltimore, to winning a shootout in game 2 against Cincy, to win going away in game 3 against Washington, and you get the sense that in a year without a preseason, this young team with its — what, 5th head coach in 6 years or something like that? — has needed the reps to get up to speed...

And hopefully screwing him up

Well, the Giants did wonders for Barkley who gained 6 yards on 15 carries against the same Bears defense which gave up 138 yards rushing to the Lions and 144 to the Falcons.

Do you honestly believe Mahomes would be the EXACT same player with the Jets as he is with the Chiefs? Lol. I'll flip it back to you with whatever helps you sleep at night.

For starters, he didn't even play year 1. Jets would have thrown him right into the fire with a terrible offensive supporting cast and bad coaching.

I'm not sure what Mahomes would have been with the Jets, but I do strongly feel that they ruined Sanchez. He wasn't going to be a superstar, but he had enough talent and intelligence to be like a fringe top-third QB in the league and at least help the Jets contend for the WC each year. But they let the offensive line and skill players around him deteriorate badly, and he became rattled, badly so. I mean the guy couldn't sit still in a perfect pocket. He was ruined.

Same thing is happening with Darnold. I think Darnold is much more talented than Sanchez and could/could have been a star--he has all the tools. But you see his decision-making getting worse, because he has poor protection and literally no one to throw the ball to. Part of that is bad luck with Perriman and Mims being out, and Crowder missing time, but still...no prized young QB should EVER be having to rely on Chris Hogan or Braxton Berrios as your #1. I mean, that's criminal.

A trash franchise like the Jets could ruin about anyone, no matter how good they are.

Praying the NFL season gets cancelled. Would be a small mercy that we deserve.

Sorry my friend but due to the fantasy and betting aspect, I'm hoping for the complete opposite as I hope and pray the NFL doesn't get cancelled as it's been a necessary distraction from the virus.

We can't go to concerts or even bars for the most part and so with hockey done and even with the Giants and Jets in full suckage mode, football still provides as much live entertainment as any of us is going to get for at least 2-3 months until hockey hopefully starts up again and the Rangers begin a decade long plus run of success as the Lafrenier era begins in earnest!....

Exactly. It's not like these teams were any good pre-covid.

I mean you have a young QB (younger than Joe Burrow, shit) whose top three wide receivers are Chris Hogan, who is 33 and had 8 catches last year; Braxton Berrios, a special teams player; and Lawrence Cager, a guy who was just on the practice squad as a UDFA and who looked terrible in his debut (first INT was on him completely). These are the wideouts and their status for tomorrow:

Breshad Perriman - Out
Jamison Crowder - Questionable
Chris Hogan - Questionable
Lawrence Cager
Braxton Berrios
Josh Malone (who is this?)
Jeff Smith - IR (who is this?)
Denzel Mims - IR
Vyncint Smith - IR
Josh Doctson - Out

It's entirely possible the WRs for this game could be Berrios, Cager, and Josh Malone. With 87-year-old Frank Gore at RB (backed up by Kalen Ballage!), no LT and no RT. I mean, f***. That is a worse collection of players than you'd see on a team that is openly tanking.

It would be so typical of the Jets to figure out a way to win this horrific matchup of a game tomorrow night. Why the NFL schedule makers had this one marked as a national game is beyond me.

1 point underdogs to a Bronco team that has injury woes as well. I've been around to long and seen this movie dozens and dozens of times over the years. No doubt in my mind, Jets will somehow end up screwing up the tank for the #1 overall and win a game like this....just watch!

Looks like Fant will be in there tomorrow, so at least one starting tackle is available. And an extra DB as well.

!

If there is a boring matchup there is one thing to make it interesting. Fantasy pros. Gamble away and help the NFL get more rich.

I can't see the Jets winning a game this year, which all but guarantees they show up and trounce the Bronco's and we are stuck watching a Gase coached team for 12 more games.

I am really unsure about Douglas right now. I know a decades worth of atrocious drafting, added to awful coaches and coaching, coupled with poor FA choices, and dreadful ownership can't be fixed in 1 year. That said, his decisions on WR's has done Sam no favors and the interior of the line, all guys he has brought in, suck donkey balls. He made a great trade and drafted a guy that if he stays healthy could win offensive rookie of the year and is already fantastic. So 2 moves that are so far great, a whole lot of meh or worse, yep I will reserve judgement as of now he's a slight improvement which isn't saying much.

I think it's tough to judge the offensive line given the massive turnover and the fact that the guys had basically no time to really learn one another. I think had they had a full off-season and some actual preseason, they'd probably look much more cohesive and better in general. But who the hell knows.

I am a dried up bitter Jets fan at the moment. All of what you said is true, I am being overly critical but I gave the other GM's way too much optimism. So the pendulum has to swing the other way. lol

Seriously though, a competent head coach fixes a lot. He fixes the poor performing assistants and coordinators, organizes etc.. Which in turn makes the team look cohesive. These losses are just atrocious on every level, the only segment of the Jets that is mediocre is the run defense because the pass is so wide open. It's all phases Offense, Defense and Special Teams. I know at least two of the coordinators are competent. The Oompa Loompa, the offensive coordinator, is just in name only, it's Gase's offense.

I just hope that the asinine hierarchy the owners have in place gets placed in a dumpster and lit on fire. The GM and the coach should not be on the same tier. Maybe Douglas can pick the next coach, lol what am I thinking?

Man the more you think about it, it comes down to having clueless owners.

Well yes obviously the gambling aspect and fans like me of the Jets and fans of Denver will watch at least for awhile. But from a football standpoint, this matchup even when I saw it before the season began and saw it was on Thursday nite, looked to me like a pretty pitiful game.

Well it's even worse than that now!
