That opportunity would really need to be unique. I'd say those comments come across that Krug is going to be re-signed more than he's going to be traded. The feeling is mutual between organization/player. They love each other.
No doubt, which makes trading him hard on a personal level. I just think it makes too much sense based on what they need and what they have waiting on LD.

I don’t know if Krug would bring in a younger wing with term, but that’s ideally what they’d want. All I know is I hope Sweeney sees what’s out there for offers.

What’s the difference between Ferland and Wagner?

Wagner's career high in points is less than Ferland's goal total from last season. Ferland had more points last year than Wagner has had in his last two seasons. Ferland has scored at a 20 goal pace in each of his last two seasons, Wagner's career high is 7 goals.

That's a pretty big difference.

I thought Donskoi looked good in the playoffs. He's someone that you can play up and down the line-up. Considering Johansson probably isn't an option anymore after his excellent playoffs, I think Donskoi would be an interesting cheaper option on the right side.

They seemed to figure it out in the playoffs, where they were over 88%.
I want them to build on it because the short handed breakaways they gave up all year simply can't happen.

I think they also need to start cutting PK minutes for Bergeron and Marchand.

You know me, I have high expectations for special teams.

This was just posted on TSN regarding Sweeney's comments on David Backes:

"Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney appeared to rule out the possibility of buying out forward David Backes this off-season on Monday.
“He’s a part of our hockey club,” Sweeney said of the 35-year-old who appeared in four games during the Stanley Cup Final.
Sweeney added that he envisions Backes in a bottom-six role moving forward on a checking line.
Backes, who scored seven goals and posted 20 points in 70 games this season, is signed for two more seasons at a $6 million cap hit. He dressed in 15 games during the postseason, scoring two goals and adding five points.
A veteran of 928 career NHL games, Backes has 244 goals and 551 points with the Bruins and St. Louis Blues.

f*** Ferland and this whole "wE neEd mOrE gRit" thing we have. If he's reportedly wanting a dump truck of cash for a golden yacht, he can find it somewhere else.

Someone earlier said Donskoi and I think he could be a solid 3rd line addition. Brandon Tanev is anothing option.

I think we can survive Backes this year, but I'm hoping we can get him da f*** outta here by next offseason.

The problem with Krejci is that only contending teams will want him but they will only want to give up futures which doesn't help us. No rebuilding or up-and-coming team will give up a solid roster player for a 30+ forward.

The only team that might make sense to me is Carolina but they would want to send a D back. So then we would need to have something else in play to get a young center from somewhere else. Basically my point is trading Krejci will just create a hole that is expensive to fill.

Want no part of Ferland. We’ve blown enough money on broken down senior citizens for big money contracts.

Brandon Tanev is intriguing.

As is my my old fave Thomas Vanek (yes, he’s old but could be had for cheap) and he can still be effective.
I agree with you 100%

Ferlund is enticing but reminds me of a better fighting Beleskey

He’s going to be moved

Chiarelli said Lewis was going to be back and there were people who knew at the time the decision was already made he was fired

Personally I would love to see Backes return and be very effective- I like him that much

However when you are a healthy scratch in the biggest game of your life in one of the biggest games in your storied franchises then I think he should want out - and they need to move him

I would think Backes knows he’s on ice not wanted and they showed they don’t want to play him

Obvious

He's always been (along with former teammate Jason Pominville) a Bruin killer throughout his career. Maybe they should sign him ;)

If the Bruins deal Krejci and his 71 points because so many Bruins fans on twitter are butt hurt I’ll be disappointed but the silver lining is I’ll be free all of next May to work on my yard

Always thought Vanek would work well with Krejci, both kinda slow, have skill and one snipes while the other can pass like no other
Could be real fun in the D zone though ha
