I tried to add this to the initial 2019 draft post, but it is locked. JFresh does this for each draft class and we have a decent amount of data to have a good feel how this draft class is trending.
Must have been a lot of Montreal fans voting.
Its an unpopular opinion on a Wings forum for sure but I'm with you that it's at least very close.I would say Zegras 2, Seider 3
If Zegras at all becomes more of a Pettersson/Eichel/Hughes tier center, then Zegras would be above Seider IMO.

I lean Seider slightly because I don't think Zegras will be a top 10 C in the league...I see his ceiling more in the Aho/Hintz/Larkin/Zibanejad/Miller/Barzal sort of tier, which is a 1C for which the blueprint to build a cup winner around is extremely tough and has only happened two out of 18 seasons post lockout (Boston 2011, St Louis 2019). Meanwhile Seider's ceiling is top 3-5 dman in the league.
However Zegras *could* exceed my expectations and it's not unrealistic to think he might. If Zegras at all becomes more of a Pettersson/Eichel/Hughes tier center, then Zegras would be above Seider IMO.
I prefer to do my trolling on a lake, but I suppose they don't have kokanee in Michigan. Not anymore at least.I would say Zegras 2, Seider 3
People are traumatized from past prospect failures. Ceilings for our young players are being set early and low.OK, but why are we spotting Zegras "if he gets better" and Seider just what... he's already peaked as a blueliner at age 22?

Seider came into the NHL on a lottery team, immediately was the #1 defender, plays all 164 games in 2 seasons, scores 92 points on an anemic offense, and is a tremendous physical presence and 2-way player. He does it all and did so with very little help while cutting his teeth against NHL competition.
What Seider has accomplished on the Wings is nothing short of exceptional. The start to his career is better than Hedman, who took 4 seasons to find his footing the way Seider did. We have one of the top young players at a premier position and he should only continue to look better and better as he gets more help from his partners, the team scores more goals, and the goaltending improves.
Seider is going to be Norris finalist sooner than later. So I'm sorry, if you're over here flipping a coin between him and Zegras, I'm asking you to turn in your gun and badge, you're reckless and you're going to get somebody hurt! You hear me? You're off the case!
Mo is the man.
Not sure I would take Caufield over Zegras and Cozens, but that’s me.

No, he's becoming my favorite American player and possibly one that unseats Pat Kane for my favorite American to watch all time.Great pick for sure.
Anyone else kind of bummed that Hughes isn't a bust? I like Seider but presuming we get the top pick and land Hughes, the franchise is looking much better with a top centerman.
