Here comes a Hall of Famer to the Pats from the Jets.

If it were anyone but Douglass making the trade I'd agree with you...lol

Dalton Keene TE is the Patriots pick. No idea about him but I'm thinking the risk of him turning into a HOF is slim...hah

I have no problem with this. I think we got two extra picks from the Pats. The 125th and 129th this year and a 6th next year.

Basically what he did was by trading back 11 picks, Douglass got Mims and 3 extra picks. That my friends is a GM doing a hell of a job maximizing your draft position to help your team which has alot of holes.

Bottom line is I trust what Douglass is going...no reason not too!!

Extra picks are great... as long as they can turn those picks into players.

So far I’m liking this though. I’d give Douglas a B+ as we stand here today.

As Jets fan, I think it was a really good two days for Gettleman, let Peart learn for a year, and you might have two stud tackles to bookend Jones for years to come.

I'd probably go A. That move that got us Mims and an extra 3rd rounder by trading back 11 spots might have been the most savvy move a Jet GM has done in my almost 50 years as a fan of this god forsaken cursed franchise of ours.

That's both a referendum on how terrible our GM's have been over they years just as much as it shows how solid a GM Douglass is.

The next few days will show how good he is seeing as we all know past GM's of ours couldn't pick their nose once the first round was over. I like our chances with Douglass in charge that we won't F up.

Just like In Gorton I trust...same with Joe...In Douglass I Trust!!

My only concern is the scouting department. I’m not sure how many guys Douglass was able to bring in with him. I like what I’ve seen and heard from him but this teams drafting has been abysmal for a long time. I’m not sure how much was able to get changed from the transition last year.

It’s one of the very rare times that both teams appear to have done a good job. Obviously, not every pick is going to light it up, but I think wise picks are being made.

I believe I read Douglass has in fact brought some former peeps in the Eagles scouting department over to us here in Jetland. I think we need to trust as I've said a bunch, that Douglass has learned from some of the best in the business and knows how to evaluate talent.

So far so good. It will be really interesting to see what Douglass does with these next 7 picks. I'm feeling confident. I don't see how any Jet fan can't be feeling confident that we got the right guy to be leading us out of this abyss we've been in for close to a decade. Time will tell but I for one am pretty damn stoked.

Agreed...your right. Very rare that both fan bases should both be happy at this point in the draft. As I mentioned to I forget who but Gettleman has done a very nice job so far. Giant fans should be pretty happy so far as should us Jet fans.

Tomorrow and Sunday will be very interesting to see how both teams fill those many needs they both have. 12 noon tomorrow I know where I'll be. Not exaclty like I can call my buds and say let's go play some golf...lol

Pretty good start for the Jets, IMO. Becton pick was very solid. The finesse trade back and still being able to grab a WR like Mims and get another pick is GOLD. The Davis pick is sneaky good; safety, corner and kick return is a freak athlete. The Zuniga pick is the only question-mark I have, ATM, but he also looks really good popping off the line quick.

I'd say that things are looking up for sure, but I wouldn't give a Douglas too much accolades quite yet. These players ultimately need to become something for the Jets going forward. Until then, that's when I'll fully commend Douglas, but so far so good!!

Coming in with only 7 picks, I didn’t think the Jets should use a pick on a QB, but with six picks tomorrow, I don’t think I would have an issue with it.

Darnold has missed games in his first two years, yes, last year was dumb Jets luck with him getting mono, but if you look at the backup starts from the games he missed in the two seasons, the Jets were largely embarrassed in those games.

I’m not bringing in competition or anything, but developing a player who can actually make a spot start/turn into a future asset isn’t a bad idea.

Right now they have Fales, who has shown nothing that shows he could step in for starts and Mike White, who I guess they might consider a guy they are developing as he was a 2018 5th round pick by Dallas.

This is 100% correct. He's made some good moves. Great, when the Jets have sustained goodness, not even greatness, I will get the anointing oil out. Other then that he's less than a year in, the Jets roster blows (no fault of his own), the offensive coaches are questionable at best (see roster), he has a long long road ahead of him. I will wait and see how he does first before proclaiming anything other than him having done a decent job so far.

YEEEEEESSSSS.....Douglass is a F'N GENIUS!!!........I told ya I was confident in this SOB...lol
So after the trade 2 wrs were picked ahead of Mims. What makes you think that Mims was the better wr? The Rams I can disregard but the Steelers have a good track record drafting wrs.

For me, it wasn't so much that Mims is "better" than any of the other guys, it was just that Douglas was able to trade down 11 spots and still grab a WR that most places had going at the end of the first through the mid-second. I'd still be really happy if Mims went earlier and the Jets grabbed Claypool. If we got stuck with Van Jefferson then I'd be way less upbeat.

I wanted Mims for the Giants. He is a legit number 1 receiver and probably the most talented receiver the Jets have drafted in a while. Reminds me of a faster Braylon Edwards.

What does the Jets O-Line Depth Chart look like right now? Is Becton actually gonna play the LT?

For the Giants its looking like

Thomas-Hernandez-Vacant-Zietler-Solder

With Gates, Fleming, Peart and Pulley as backups.

For Jets I'm gonna say

Becton-Lewis-McGovern-Winters-Eduga

with Fant, Van Roten as backups

The Jets should trade for Williams from the Redskins and move Becton to the right side and draft another right guard and then you have an awesome line.

if becton is good at his size, we wouldn't you want him on the left so defenders need to got around a mountain to get to darnold's blind side...hopefully he can be the new d'brick. now they need their new mangold.

Is the reason we have more Jets fans here because this board is on the younger side and Giants fans tend to skew older? I've never seen Giants fans outnumbered like this.
