Eventually it's gonna be someone like Hughes against someone like Zelenak and it won't be pretty.

Hughes reminds me of Visnovsky. Small, offensive, but tends to forget he is a defender.

Makes no sense. I have faith in Oettinger but to throw him in cold against Canada when Woll has already seen action doesn’t make sense. Was way more practical to start Oettinger tonight and Woll tomorrow

My guess is Motzko has more faith in Woll and thought the situation where he gets Woll in for 3 round robin games over 2 and 2 was the best idea.

It puts them at a disadvantage for the "showcase" game, but they already were coming off a back to back while Canada had the day off.

I'm not making any judgment myself on Woll vs Oettinger despite being a Leaf fan, goalies are voodoo as prospects and both are promising prospects. Obviously, I hope for the best for Woll as a Leafs fan. This is just an assumption based on how Motzko has used Woll and Oettinger the last 2 years.

No idea. I honestly don't see the point in having an outdoor game in the world juniors.

Just goes to show size can matter a lot in junior hockey especially if they can skate. Slovaks with a big team gave Canada a strong effort and are giving USA a tough match.

This Liska kid on Slovakia has one of the strangest takeoffs I've ever seen a hockey player have.

Sort of runs in place like Fred Flinstone for a few seconds before getting moving.

Quinn Hughes is all offense. How many times has he been caught at the far blue line and had to chase the play back. Lucky only 1 of them has resulted in a goal for the Slovaks. Not a very inspiring performance from him outside of his end to end rushes, those are pretty sweet. I'd take Noah Dobson or Ty Smith over him in the draft though, no question.
