tough opening pair of games for the Slovaks on a back-to-back. I think they'll keep it close for most of the game, but in the end the Americans will pull it out. USA for the W 5-2.

And then they get Finland for their third game. Tough group!

We tired em out for ya. :)

Seriously, though, I’m hoping for a better game than the Danes supplied. Their ridiculous collapsing defensive strategy was hard to watch. They weren’t even trying to win.

Interesting that Woll gets this game too

Is he seen as their number 1? If he is wouldnt it make more sense to play him tomorrow and have Oettinger take tonight? Or does Woll get the first 2 then Oettinger the next and they decide from there?

USA has a quick turnaround tomorrow.

I predict they get up by 3 after one period and then just shut it down

The back to back seemed to set tonight up perfectly for Oettinger. I wonder if this means he'll play tomorrow against Canada - it would certainly be asking a lot of Woll to start again well under 24 hours later. Oettinger is certainly capable of beating Canada and the difference between the two goalies is virtually non-existent...

Does the coaching staff think going from an indoor game to an outdoor game and back inside would be difficult or concerning? Is there an advantage to not subjecting Woll to the outdoor game? Or is Woll simply the guy and they plan on riding him all the way through??

I'll go 8-1 USA. Courtesy goal because they were shutout yesterday
