First game people, world didn't end, the tournament didn't end.

Horrible call on the first goal but what are the chances of that happening again? Glad it was this game.

No go cry yourself to sleep, its late and its a work day tomorrow for most of you.

What would that help?
Yes Räsänen is big and physical dman but he's slow skater.

The only thing that is relatively certain is that Luukkonen isn't so clear number one starter as some have expected ( Craig Button).
Luukkonen was really shaky and extremely unsure what i saw him in 1st period i shutdown my stream after 3-1 goal).

Also Heiskanen's position in 1st defense should be questioned.
Heiskanen was quite invisible in this game he definitely didn't play well.

Honestly said Heiskanen was like a shadow on that what he has been in HIFK.

Honestly he probably wont help. But I would like to see what he can do with his cannon on the Power Play.

Sometimes not having a bonafide star isn’t a bad thing. These guys played for each other and played hard, made things happen. They look like they’re all on the same page. Not sitting back and hoping a star pedigree player wins it for them.

Yeah they certainly played as a team. The past few years it looked like everyone was waiting for Strome and the other stars to do something. Playing hero puck

It just pisses me off that the video refs are Canadian. I’ve never ever witnessed a goal favouring Canada being overruled by the ”unbiased” refs. I bet they don’t even watch the video. They just wait for a couple of minutes and then make the decision based on what benefits Canada.

Do you really believe this? The Refs don't make the call off the ice, the war room does. Now your gonna say they too are Canadian and biased.

Of course they did, they were the better team.

I just do not understand how there is always this certain percentage of fans that are such sore losers and cannot just accept defeat gracefully.

Well I don't get all the whining either, but doesn't help when most of you "polite" Canadians are riling them up even after you see that they are beyond reasoning. Theres sore losers like Brun0 for example, but theres no grace in your win for some of you.

I wasn't impressed by neither of the teams. Canada had plenty of giveaways in their own zone and they were VERY undisciplined throughout the whole game. On the other hand I liked how quickly they turned the game after takeaways. Finland's first period was a disaster and that cost them the game. No need to mention anything about Finland's PP. The last 2 periods were fine for them.

Then he's not as good as I've thought and not what I've seen from him in the KHL.

Our 1st line can be one of the best lines in this tourney, and Tolvanen should be in a good spot for his talent level, Vesalainen looked alright today when the team failed.
I'm not too worried about Tolvanen, as he's a NSH ( I'm a NSH fan, which explains my calmness about him being 'cold' in this tourney so far.) prospect and pretty easily penciled into the roster next year if he completes the latter half of his year with decent numbers. He will get the support he needs if his play remains as it has been in this tourney.
1 game. Let's not make rash decisions and cry ourselves to sleep because we lost to Canada.
They are clearly at the top in any given year.

Couldn’t care less. I’m from Sweden, but nice try. It just pisses me off that the video refs are Canadian. I’ve never ever witnessed a goal favouring Canada being overruled by the ”unbiased” refs. Are they using the NHL office in Toronto for reviews?

Honest question because I have no idea if they are.

RULE 175 – AWARDING A PENALTY SHOT/SKATER FALLING ON PUCK i. If a skater falls on, holds, gathers the puck into his body, picks up the puck with his hands, or conceals the puck with his hands from the ice in the defending zone goal crease, the referee will award the opposing team a penalty shot.
Canadian player did non of the bolded. He swatted the puck out of the crease.

Yeah I agree, it wasn't a penalty shot. It was in, but it wasn't a penalty shot.

Their reaction is pretty understandable, when you have to listen to all that tinfoil hat garbage it is difficult to take.

If fans would just stop antagonizing with utter garbage to begin with you wouldnt have to deal with any of it would you?

The ultimate responsibility lies with the fans of the losing side, they get the ball rolling with foolishness.

The comment which now is removed that said; ''Better team won, onto the next bottom-feeder'' isn't factually wrong. We were a bottom feeder team last year.
Last 5 years of performance has gotten us 2 7th place finishes and 2 golds along with the 9th place finish.
Eh, statistically correct.
Lots to learn from this one.
Hoping that we get some solid games under us before the semis.

Loved the effort from this team. Clearly the better team.
yeah our individual talents aren't great by our standards, but if we play like this it won't matter. Speed and tenacity with great goaltending is going to make us very tough to beat. And of course we do have enough high end skill to match other teams, we just don't completely overpower them like usual

The first goal completely took us out from the game. It had a big effect on the players, that was clear to see. I'm still pissed, but oh well... it's only the first game. In 2014 we didn't start well either, but ended up winning the whole thing.

Pretty horrible reffing both ways in this game. Katchouk's goal clearly should've been disallowed and Canada got some penalties for nothing, one of which led to a goal by Finland. Foote's save was unreal and there was nothing against the rules, he didn't cover the puck, he just swiped it away.

The better team won today but these refs tried their best to make the game unenjoyable.

Better than your tin foil garbage

I guess we have to just wait for someone to post the goal in slow motion where it shows the puck rolling on it's side fully over line. It was shown on TSN so I'm sure someone has footage. It's not tinfoil I have, I use eyes for observing visuals. Not sure what you use tinfoil for, I usually use it for cooking.

Finland keeper was good today. Im surprised he hasn't gotten more love.

Would have been 6 or 7 without him.
