Clearly you dont know the rules. If he plays the puck with his hands inside the crease to prevent a goal its a penaltyshot. Normal NA tournament. Biased videoreffing...
RULE 175 – AWARDING A PENALTY SHOT/SKATER FALLING ON PUCK i. If a skater falls on, holds, gathers the puck into his body, picks up the puck with his hands, or conceals the puck with his hands from the ice in the defending zone goal crease, the referee will award the opposing team a penalty shot.
Canadian player did non of the bolded. He swatted the puck out of the crease.

Finland didn't deserve to win. They played sloppy and didn't capitalize from the few places they had.

If blaming refs makes you feel better then go right ahead, you just look like a moron while doing it.
Well, honestly both teams looked really bad. None of these teams should be in the finals with this kind of play. Need to improve by miles for that to happen

Great assessment, thanks for voicing it out.

I've been equally annoyed by the 1-0 call and the whiny Finnish posters here who make the rest of us look bad. Close second in annoyance are the other posters who've swallowed the bait and gone the same route mocking the entire Finnish fanbase for said few Finnish posters.

Highly entertaining game, btw. Uncomposed, raw, but great to watch on spite of awful reffing.
Yeah, it was a fast-paced, high hustle game, would have been much more enjoyable if the refs weren't tainting it with a really poor performance.

Hopefully we see better officiating as the tourney goes on, and hopefully Canada and Finland play again in the medal round, it was indeed entertaining hockey.

Bad reffing, sure. But that same reffing was applied to both.
Loved how Gord (I think that's his first name) actually does his background fact check and gives little insight to where the player is from like he said the little factoid about where Hämeenlinna is located from Helsinki. Those little tidbits make listening to TSN oh so much better than the Finnish broadcast which is slow like the D was today.

Tuulola just mumbles nonsense including false information about the disallowed goal. That's why a lot of finns here are now claiming it was a goal. Thanks for the professionalism Tuulola. Maybe get someone whos son isn't on the team.

Finn fans are the only fans I know whose team gets double the power plays as the opponent...and still claims they were screwed by the refs.
Penalties should be called by infractions, not trying to be artificially even. By iihf rules, canada deserved to have that landslide of penalties. Got to adjust and clean up the stickwork.
