Canada is clear favourite for me especially in smaller rink but Finland has chance to beat Canada if they have good day.
For me too and Canada is going to win the game. Video referees gave 2 goal advantage to Canada so thwy struggle against poor Finnish team... bronze would not be out of reach but no chance to win irt all

He didn't close his glove on the puck, do you not understand the rules?

Clearly you dont know the rules. If he plays the puck with his hands inside the crease to prevent a goal its a penaltyshot. Normal NA tournament. Biased videoreffing...

Finnish fans: if you blame this game, no matter it’s outcome, on your goaltender, you’re out to lunch. He’s the only reason you aren’t down by four or five this period.
I think most finnish fans are attributing it to the entire team looking rough and not up to their potential.

Their 2nd game is against Denmark and should give them a confidence boost and a win before taking on the rest of the division

Well, that's what I was arguing. The net was loose before the puck crossed the line.

But this is useless arguing, it's not like Finland is losing because of these calls. We have not been good enough. Bad calls happen, and you have to accept that.

That's not what you were arguing

Do the refs watch only the roof camera in these kind of situations? I am curious, because in some other angles it looked like the puck was over the goal line.

What Foote did was legal and it was the right call all around.

No need to slam the refs for actually getting it right.

Finland has 1 legitimate gripe and it's the first goal. They got ripped off there but beyond that I think Canada has been the slightly better team and deserve a 1 goal lead. All this other manufactured drama regarding officiating is just frustration.

It did, there was frame by frame of it. The puck was rolling but that still counts. If puck is 100% over goal line its a goal but I guess the videoref thought its unclear enough so he can call it no goal. I mean its just under inch over the line but if you stop the pick it is

Yeah you can't see it from overhead angle but it was fully in on it's side and that's all that should count. 2 botched calls by videoref in one game is quite rare. But maybe the same blind person made both calls

Unless another angle was from the perfect perpendicular side angle you can't use it to look like the puck was in. Angles can be deceiving. Especialy on plays that close where it's a millimeter this way or not

So both the first goal and that no goal are already canonized in the Canadian collective psyche as non-controversial, unwavering and solid as granite?

Where did I say that? I don't think the first goal should have counted but it doesn't matter when you're down even if you take that goal away. Finland has had more than enough opportunities to tie or lead this game.

HF never ceases to amaze me on how little they know about hockey. Holy. No goal and not a penalty.
