Rule 618 | Handling Puck with Hands

(a) Play shall be stopped and a last play face-off shall occur anytime a player (except the goalkeeper) closes his hand on the puck and does not immediately drop the puck to the ice.
A minor penalty for delay of game shall be assessed to any player, other than the goalkeeper, who picks the puck up from the ice with his hand(s) while play is in progress.
A penalty shot/optional minor penalty shall be awarded to the non-offending team anytime a defending player, other than the goalkeeper, picks the puck up off the ice with his hand or holds the puck while play is in progress and the puck is in the goal crease. If this infraction occurs while the goalkeeper has been removed from the ice and prevents and obvious and imminent goal, a goal shall be awarded to the non-offending team

What do you make of this? Guessing Fabbro didn't hold or pick up the up.

No it didn't.
It did, there was frame by frame of it. The puck was rolling but that still counts. If puck is 100% over goal line its a goal but I guess the videoref thought its unclear enough so he can call it no goal. I mean its just under inch over the line but if you stop the pick it is

Katchouk will get player of the game but I think Thomas deserves it
Yep, and katchouk has been real good imo. But thomas's raw talent as well as sound defense has been on display....i think there are plenty of points to follow for him as the tourney goes on.

The puck crossed the line on the first goal of the game. Go check the replay

Not while game was still going. Net dislodged automatically stops the game and you can't score after it's stopped. It doesn't go by when ref blows whistle. It goes by which happens first, puck fully over line or net dislodged. There was no question. Net was off, game was stopped. It couldn't be a goal according to rulebook.

Hey you fellow finns, let's stop whining and show some SISU instead. It's just two goals

Additionally a match like this should boost the teams' motivation to play better in the future

No goal, I guess it is allowed to take the puck and throw it away if you feel like it?
The reason this never happens is because of practicality purposes. You could also try skating on one leg, you'd find very quickly that you'd get nowhere with it. If the situation arises you can use your hands, but you'd never do that normally because your reach with your arms is poor compared to with a stick. 99% of times you won't get near it.

Finnish fans: if you blame this game, no matter it’s outcome, on your goaltender, you’re out to lunch. He’s the only reason you aren’t down by four or five this period.
Moot point. He hasn't made a play by himself, he has stood in front by luck in some situations. If he truly was a reason we would be tied, we would be.
There's nothing positive to be said about the defense, but nobody is safe from criticism when nearly everyone on the ice has made glaring mistakes.

Net displacement does not automatically stop the game. Ref also did not blow the whistle.

The puck crossed the line. It was clear. What's being debated is whether the net was off and whether it should have been called a goal based on that.
Well, that's what I was arguing. The net was loose before the puck crossed the line.

But this is useless arguing, it's not like Finland is losing because of these calls. We have not been good enough. Bad calls happen, and we have to accept that.
