And?

He's in his draft year. That's when you're dubbed a generational prospect or not.

It's always tougher for 17 year old defenseman than 17 year old forwards. Even the best ones. It's extremely rare for a 17 year old defenseman to dominate this tournament, yet year old forwards who go in the top 5 tend to do it quite a bit.

I know everyone will expect Dahlin to dominate, but he likely won't, and everyone will come away viewing him as less of a player because of it

Are you joking? A couple 7 year old defensemen dominate the WJC every year!

For whatever reason I get a very Ryan Murray esq vibe from Rasmus Dahlin. Solid 200 ft player, hasn't really blown me away with any particular skill but overall all aspects of his game seem to be good and dependable. Definitely deserving of a top 3 selection but I don't think he's anywhere near a generational talent like he's being hyped to be. Very very good player though.

My damn computer and the number keys often don't work. I was actually typing that and saw the 1 didn't go in, went back hit the 1 again, and was too dumb to check to see if it went in the 2nd time. Noticed it like 2 minutes later and corrected. Knew someone would make that joke if they noticed it

What? Hes a dominant player. Nothing like Murray. Murray was a safe dman who projected to be a two way #2. Not a super high ceiling but very likely to reach it. Injuries kinda derailed him though.

Dahlin projects as a dominant #1.

He's a better hockey player than Murray already who's like 7 years older than him.

He reminds me of Griffin Reinhart and Luke Schenn.

Sorry, I actually had him 8th at the draft. If I am remembering correctly, I dropped him a few spots the last month, I think I had him top 5 most of the season though. But yeah, he's definite top 10. I don't know how he lasted to 15th.

I don't disagree, but I am try not to get into the habit of dropping players or raising players too much in the D+1 or D+2. Just too much can happen. Chytil is impossible to deny though! Should be top 5 IMO.
