This will be interesting to see in 4 years.......

Hall-Crosby-Stamkos
Duchene-Tavares-Seguin
Benn-Toews-mackinnon
Couture-Bergeron-Skinner
McDavid
Drouin/Nuge

Subban-Pietro
Doughty-weber
Keith-Vlasic
Ekblad

Price
Holtby
Bernier

Not bad. Still a pretty young team to be honest. Letang is on there somewhere I would think especially if the Pens have a great next 4 years. Maybe Crawford as a goalie too if the Hawks continue to thrive. I'd like to think Fleury will have settled down by then and become more consistent and would have a veteran presence.

What's funny is that Bergeron would be the grizzled old veteran by then. Most of the members of the 2005 World Juniors will be considered too old by then, but I think there could be room for Getzlaf or Perry somewhere in there. They wouldn't even be 33 yet. Toews wouldn't even be 30. Crosby would be 30.

And I agree, based on projection McDavid is on this team.

I'd swap skinner for Groux. Sure. That looks good too.

Oh well. Totally a shot in the dark. I had a look at the first page of 2014 roster predictions. Wow you've gotta see some of the names on their. Lots of people were predicting Luke Schenn. Hahaha. Oh well it will be fun to look back on my roster and realize how wrong I was

Team Canada

Tavares Crosby Stamkos
Duchene Toews Giroux
Hall Getzlaf Perry
Benn Bergeron Lucic
Seguin/RNH

Doughty Weber
Keith Pietrangelo
Vlasic Hamilton
Murray

Hopefully we have some better goalies in 4 years.

Meanwhile outside of NHL 14 fantasies, Saad is still a better player right now than Bjugstad.
Saad doesn't bring anything to the table that Bjugstad doesn't except playing for the Hawks. I would hate to lose in the Olympics because we picked players on better teams and not necessarily the better players.

I thought I saw somebody mention Brock Nelson in this thread, but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, it's his destiny to be an Olympian. There was a member of his family on both gold-medal winning Team USA olympic squads, so far.

Roger and Bill Christian in 1960

Dave Christian in 1980

Brock Nelson in 2018?

Can't wait to see the Swedish D in 2018 if they continue to develop.

OEL-Brodin
Hedman-Karlsson
Lindholm-Hjalmarsson
A Larsson
Edler
Klefbom (stuck in the Swedish graveyard up north tho)
Some out of the blue, like Olofsson, Hägg, etc...

This top-6 wouldn't had looked bad this year either.

(At least Brodin & Lindholm can play on either side as well)

Guys like Edler, Enström and Gunnarsson will still be good then too, and there a handful of prospects like Rundblad, Urbom and Erixon pushing themselves into NHL rosters... Thankfully our pipeline is starting to look good on the blueline as well :) .

Yeah it's a guessing game, just took those with the highest potential, ATM. But it could easily be some other names that's on the roster instead.

Kunitz-Crosby(A)-Nash
Marleau-Monahan(C)-Reinhart(A)

and what ever the heck else you wanna do with it!

Gonna take a stab at all the Big8-nations and see how I fare in 4 years. Will probably be dead wrong on most, so much can happen in four year, top prospects bust, little known prospects brake out, some veterans decline suddenly and quickly, some stay young forever...

All ages as of February 1st, 2018

You think Duchene is gonna be left off for guys who didn't make it this year and Schwartz?

It's impossible to predict these, because it's never simply "best players available".
Though if 2014 is any indicator for the Russian squad, then 2018 will be guaranteed to have 3-4 unknown 4th liners.....

attempt at canada forwards, assuming it is back on the small NA ice too

Duchene-Crosby-Stamkos
Mcdavid-Tavares-Eberle
E kane - Toews - Mackinnon
Couturier - Cizikas (yes, I'm being completely serious and not just a homer) - Bergeron
getzlaf, Drouin/Strome/RNH

No offense, but this is brutal lol.

Kunitz-Crosby(A)-Nash
Marleau-Monahan(C)-Reinhart(A)

and what ever the heck else you wanna do with it!
That's a joke right? Marleau, Nash and Kunitz barely made it this year, and making team canada doesn't get easier... Reinhart will be in Hall and Seguin's position right now in 4 years so i doubt he makes it. And I doubt Monahan goes either.

That team should be absolutely stacked, and it could be one of the best teams we have EVER iced at the World / Canada Cup. :yo: Unbelievable.

No way the Sedin sisters are there in four years....

At 37, I think we'll see Zetterberg and the Sedins there. But I'm more certain about Zetterberg. Are they the leading players? Probably not. Instead I'm gonna predict Eriksson has fallen off by then, or is simply outnumbered.

Landeskog(25)-Bäckström(30)-Forsberg(23)
Zetterberg(37)-Lindholm(23)-Zibanejad(24)
Sedin(37)-Sedin(37)-Silfverberg(27)
Hagelin(29)-Berglund(29)-de la Rose(22)
Nylander(21), Steen(33)

OEL(26)-Hedman(27)

Kronwall(37)-Lindholm(24)
Hjalmarsson(30)-Erixon(26)

Armia - Barkov - Mi Granlund
Pulkkinen - Teräväinen - Lehkonen
Filppula - Koivu - Korpikoski
Hartikainen - Salomäki - Komarov
Hm: Kapanen, Ma Granlund, Haula

Määttä - Vatanen
Ristolainen - Pokka
Honka - Melart
Hm: Järvinen, Jokipakka, Eronen, Lindell

Rask
Ortio
Saros
Hm: Raanta, Husso

But the true 1st line

Selänne - S Koivu - OJokinen
Timonen - Salo

Just awful

I assume 2018 is on international ice again?

I don't know why people think there will be olympics in 2018.....isn't it almost sure that we're gonna see World Cup in 2015/16 instead? Or at least no olympics in 2018....in Korea, come on. I really doubt NHL will participate.

yea might be olympics will be replaced with world cup. Theres no ovechkin saying his going to Korea in 2018. If they had refused to go into sochi there would be no russians left playing in nhl today.
