Reminds me of the 2007 Canadians draft, Subban, McDonagh, and Max P. We have Kravtsov, Miller, and Lundkvist. I know two of the three we haven't seen play, but that's amazing. My one gripe with the Rangers is that they rarely got more than one good player in a draft this draft could have gotten us three studs.

maybe

maybe best ever until - 2020?
Laf, Schnieder, Garand, Berard, Vierling, Cuylle

even 2019 w Kakko, Robertson, Jones could be great, esp if Henriksson low-point season is just a 'blip'

god bless "The Letter"

I'm not at all sold on Kravtsov being a real impact player. Lundkvist I have very high hopes for, but what he can truly do is still TBD.

We had 1990--Weight, Zubov, and Nemchinov. Of course, in the first we picked Michael Stewart and could have had Tkachuk, Smolinski, Brad May, or Brodeur (gulp).

1982 we had Sandstrom, Granato, and Kelly Miller.

Going way back, 1977 was Lucien DeBlois, Duguay, and Mario Marois.

There are some other good ones, too, where we got a lot of good players. Also ones where we drafted guys who had really good careers, but in other leagues (when there were competing leagues).

Our 2008 draft was looking amazing until Grachev busted and Del Zotto plateaued.

Lots of NHL games from that draft year. Weise had a journeyman career and even Kundratek got some games.

The drafting the last couple of years has definitely been better (ignoring the Lias debacle). Maybe Gordie Clarke isn't as terrible as everyone thought?

I don't think Krav or Nils (especially Nils) are in our long term plans but they should be able to return a long term piece.

Even if the 2017 looks like a debacle because of the Lias pick, we still may get Chytil and Barron out of it.

I always thought Krav would replace Buch, but Buch has honestly transformed into a good top 6 winger, so I don't know.

I think Nils replaces TDA down the line.

lol our picks from that draft have no played a combined 5 games...this might be just slightly premature and an unfair standard to judge them by

I like the snowstorm can’t yet make this up. Kids haven’t even played.

it’s like having one successful date and jumping into which college the kids will attend

I’m not sold on Kravtsov being more than a 3RW — if he ever makes the team. To quote Robert California: winners, prove me right; losers, price me wrong.

I think kravtsov will be a very solid middle 6 winger probably a third line winger with the guys we have ahead of him that can move up when needed. But I think his two way play will develop and he’ll be very important.

But I don’t believe he’s a top line guy.

Unless any of them make the HHOF or close to it, I’d say no.

Not hating on Gordie, but to be fair, Gorton took the reigns and became the deciding voice in the room from Sather, plus, Bobrov has taken a larger role in the Dept the past few years as well and I wouldn't count out Drury having some input either. Honestly, the whole dept should be lauded. Again, nothing against Clarke, the Sather factor can't be ignored and there were still some hold over scouts from the Maloney days. Clarkes tenure should be looked at from a first half/second half perspective.

Gorton and Clarke have worked together on the draft ever since Gorton came to the Rangers. Sather never had any idea who the Rangers were drafting. There are new voices in the room. Nothing wrong with that. I’ve always looked at Gorton as someone who takes a lot of counsel from different POVs but there’s little question in my mind that Gordie is his trusted right hand.

If you can get two top 4 Dmen and 1 top 9 winger in a single draft thats a homerun. Its just a question if Lundkvist and Kravstov make it over here.
