I’m with all of you very exciting but just throwing caution out there. The chance (hopefully very slim) it doesn’t work out especially if it’s work ethic/attitude reasons it could be much worse than the first time around.

I don't see how it possibly could be any worse.

Great news.

Honestly would like to see them just give him a shot with the big club. 3rd line.

I had a brief thought of whether they might keep him with the NHL team for a bit to practice with them and then send him to Hartford for some games. Just kind of "hey, watch the NHLers a bit, listen to what guys like Panarin and Buch have to tell you, see the kind of things they're practicing, and then go apply that in Hartford and we'll see how you're doing in a few weeks"

I would think that if he's willing to come back then he's doing so with the mind frame of needing to do whatever he needs to get things back on track. But who knows, it's a weird situation and ultimately the kid just needs to play and "get a win" in here

The only way this could get worse is if Gorts is calling him back against his will. I can’t read Russian so I don’t know what he said in his farewell post. But so long as kravtsov is on board this will fix things. He’s a great player, Hartford’s compotent and got a good thing going, he’ll be fine. I’m actually happy this happened now and will most likely never be a concern in the future. The KHL looming. Think his experience in Russia just now makes both rykov and Igor less likely to leave. That was a nightmare for him

I personally think he needs time in Hartford. Not saying he’s physically gonna get stronger and mature overnight but getting some positive work down in Hartford will help. Plus the team with Shesty/Rykov is not a disaster anymore. I hope he buys in to the importance of winning in Hartford

He hardly played for Traktor and then was sent to a league worse than the AHL. Very much doubt this is against his will...

He should be no place but Hartford. He really has to earn this now. There is no free ticket out to Russia any more.

Right move. Hopefully he comes back motivated and realizes everything that's transpired thus far. And I also hope the Rangers provide him with enough resources to make him feel comfortable and/or welcomed. Whether it be a Russian family to take him in or someone to simply talk to him like they had with Ruutu and Kakko. They don't need to baby him as he does need to learn and grow as a person but at the same time, they have a lot invested in him and whatever happened the first go around simply didn't work.

well and I hope some of the conversation is about how they're looking to be able to call up a player like him and that Hartford isn't some permanent thing for the rest of the year if he goes down there and succeeds. Sometimes taht stuff needs to be spelled out

Also what should be told to him - clean slate. Nothing about leaving is going to be held against him, as long as he works hard and is motivated he will play and he can make his way to the NHL.

All the hype about him starting in the NHL over the summer, and he was clearly not ready for it. And as soon as it looks like he is coming back over, after this terrible start, and there's still people talking about getting him up with the Rangers

Come on guys, just be happy he's coming back to the AHL and let's hope he brought his work boots this time.

Hell yea.

Now fire the coaching staff in HFD before he gets back before they bench him for a low heart rate again.
