Is it just me or are the invites for this team crawling in? I know there's time but are they waiting on pickings after the first round or what?

Still about 3 weeks to go before it starts so plenty of time and likely a few guys healing after a long year so waiting on those yays or nays..

And yes 1st round exits usually adds another 3-4 players at different points..But the pace has been fine IMO..Take all the time you need if you keep getting players of this Calibre.

Brett Pesce and Noah Hanifin might accept invites. Was hoping for Slavin from Carolina but Pesce had a really good finish to the season, so he'd be a solid addition

never thought I would be saying this, but I honestly do NOT want to see Keller or Boeser or possibly Connor on this squad. If we can keep getting legitimate 2nd/3rd line forwards with maybe 1-2 top line guys (Eichel and Palmieri) I am fine with filling out an actual NHL level roster.

Boeser, Connor, Keller, etc will all be studs, but how freaking nice would it be to look up and down a roster of actual full time NHL players?? Is that dream possible for this year???

But I think that USA hockey has set a pattern in wanting up n coming US prospects in the tournament as of late. Boeser, Connor and Keller's playmaking would on display on the bigger ice surface.

I think there should be a mix.

What about Nick Leddy? Seems like great defenseman to target for Team USA.

he is the perfect target - great skater, on the younger side, playing on the big ice...he should have a wonderful role for this team if he comes to play. would love to add Leddy, Hanifin, and DeKeyser for this blue line - add those 3 and call it a day for me

they have and I don't mind if they have to add a few of them...just saying how cool it would be to see from top down a FULL NHL roster..

I hope we only bring one of them along, likely Boeser since he has been in the show a bit longer of late than the other names I said...happy we have all this young skill, but we have plenty 21-24 years olds to fill out a roster that are skilled as well in the NHL.

just trying to be picky for once

Per Chip Alexander (Canes beat writer), Faulk and Slavin were asked but turned it down.

Some players will keep playing hockey, at the 2017 IIHF World Championship in Paris and Cologne, Germany. Forward Jeff Skinner is expected to compete for Canada, forward Sebastian Aho for Finland, and forwards Elias Lindholm, Victor Rask and Joakim Nordstrom for Sweden.

Defensemen Justin Faulk and Jaccob Slavin declined invitations from Team USA but D-men Noah Hanifin and Brett Pesce may be selected.

Good start, but the Brickley/Greenway selections weren't necessary at this point.

Happy to see Lee and Nelson show up again. If a few more guys commit (Eichel, Hanifin, Pesce, etc.) this could be one of the stronger teams we've iced in a long time.

Jordan Greenway. Thats awesome. Looking good mix. Matthews after first round and everything is possible.

Glad to see Compher selected, he had a real strong finish to the season in Colorado. I'm glad he gets to continue playing.
