A D corps of Trouba, Hanifin, Pesce, DeKeyser, Murphy, Brickley is a good start. Getting Werenski and Gardiner to finish things off assuming Toronto and Columbus lose would be a great way to round them out. Would clearly make the US' defense group the second best in the tournament behind Sweden. Solid goalies too. Just need some forwards and some big names are available who would actually say yes

I am so excited to watch this team, hopefully some young US stars will join the team after the 1st round (Matthews, Tkachuk, Werenski, Jones or Gaudreau). It is such a pity that Ghost is not going (most likely), but it is indeed understandable on the other side. What about Eichel?! Any news?

This is a really exciting roster. I never thought I'd say this but actually I think we could use a Matt Hendricks type add on this team. All of the forwards are like 24 and younger.

Hanifin - Trouba
xxx - xxx
DeKeyser - Murphy

Larkin - xxx - xxx
Nelson - Lee - Bjugstad
Dvorak - Copp - Compher
Greenway - Keller - xxx

Lee hasn't played center at the pro level at all.

Nelson has played center on and off for a few years now with NYI, but is much better on the wing in my opinion.

I think Nelson was on Eichel's wing a few years back at the WC and had a good showing.

after seeing what his face looks like after this game from the puck he took to the eye...yeah, he certainly is done if Columbus gets booted.

Come on down Seth Jones, Cam Atkinson, and Charlie Coyle as top adds for this team - all realistic adds.

Taking a puck to the face is better than having something with his knee or shoulder though. He could still go maybe.

I agree with those three, and that would be HUGE. From forwards I would take only Atkinson and wait for the Toronto and Calgary series though. Maybe Saad if he wants to. Unlike HockeyCanada, the USAHockey actually announced the first list, so there's probably no one we don't know about. Which would mean that they are counting on adding 4-5 forwards and 2-3 defensmen from the playoffs.

I am pretty damn excited to see what the final additions are. I really do hope that you will get Matthews, Gaudreau, and perhaps Atkinson and one of Tkachuk/Saad/Coyle. Maybe I'm setting the bar too high, but still. What a team that would be.

Werenski said he couldn't see out of his right eye after taking a puck off his face. Safe to say he's out. Seth Jones, Gardiner, TVR, Wideman are some realistic options of teams in postseason. Foligno is a guy I think they'll add among forwards. He's one of the rare over 25 guys who is interested and he's the only Blue Jacket forward I would expect. Atkinson hasn't seem interested at all the last 3 years or so and Saad seems like someone that's the same. Also expect Tkachuk to accept and Gaudreau is a good chance if they're eliminated. Team will just need a high end C to accept for the team to really take off offensively and Matthews accepting has a decent shot of happening assuming Toronto doesn't get by Washington and that would be a game changer for the team.

Forwards shouldn't be an issue for this team for the first time I can remember, just need a couple more legit top 4 defensemen and this team will be pretty good.

Werenski should not come for sure.

I have almost no confidence in my Bruins right now. MacAvoy perhaps?

If Gaudreau and Matthews come....God, that would be awesome. I'd contact Vegas to investigate odds.

Matthews + Jones + JvR + TvR + Tkachuk + Foligno would make a solid team.

Foligno - Matthews - Larkin
JvR - Bjugstad - Tkachuk
Lee - Nelson - Keller
Copp - Dvorak - Compher
Greenway

Hanifin - Jones
Dekeyser - Trouba
Murphy - TvR
Brickley

Hellebuyck
Howard
Peterson

Lee - Nelson - Keller

Even though Nelson plays Center for NY, I believe he is a much better LW. It seems some of his best hockey I seen him play was at these world championships playing LW for guys like Eichel and Tyler Johnson

Anders Bjork added to team

come on, not this **** again...practically 5 college players already on this team - no reason to be naming these guys with all the damn players still out there.

Bjork is a good kid, but these college players rarely look good in these tournaments as it is a lot to ask of them.

Björk is good kid but when there is Gaudreau, Matthews, Tkachuk, Saad etc out there they should wait and see.

Gaudreau*-Matthews*-Tkachuk*
Nelson-Bjugstad-Lee
Larkin-Keller-Dvorak
Björk-Copp-Compher
Greenway

I might be harsh as well with Bjork who I like...but like you said, just way too many names out there to be naming him.

It likely means they know that very few guys in the playoffs are going to want to play if eliminated...I am sure they have feelers out there through agents, etc.. to be adding Bjork right now means the troops likely aren't coming to the rescue.

If we are adding guys like Greenway and Bjork, where in the hell is Boeser? That's a kid I want here...or Kyle Connor..

I always wish USA well in this tournament, both for the troll aspect of USA winning but not caring at all and because some success might prompt better participation in the future. This year looks kind of typical for USA with good goaltending and mobile defence. Not a favourite but a dangerous team.
