I can't remember the last time we had a full tournament to play with so many NHLers before the championship. I vaguely remember a few here and there most seasons but the bulk of them usually drop in the day before or a few days in.

Me either amazingly good defense on paper

+ many nhlers accept invite after first SC

That is probably the best D I have ever seen for sweden in whc, almost a full D of really top NHL D. The forwards caliber do not match it, but it looks good there also for being so early.

I would love to see Backlund and Nylander to this team, Backlund is very underrated. Nylander hasnt score many points in the playoff so far, but when I have watch Toronto, I would say he has been their best player, amazing good at those zone entries. He was horrible in the middle of the season, but otherwize I think he has looked like a star.

The tweet also says that he his confirmed for IHWC team, so he is guaranteed a spot

Foppa kommer!

Would like to see a couple of offensive potent NHL forwards join. Defense looks great but we could really use a Backström or Nylander on this team, I'd also love to see Burakovsky and Johansson.

Lundqvist was "false alarm", he's not guaranteed anything beyond the EHT games.

In that case that tweet is really misleading, but the federation hockey site confirmed what you said

I love Joel and his playingstyle, but this is bad news. Joel Lundqvist is too slow for WC pace.

No. But in his prime? Yes, as a 4th line checker.

He wasn't guaranteed a WC spot though per the swedish hockeyfederation website

Hopefully J.Lundqvist isnt a guy for the real WC team. As you say, he's too slow now. He is an excellent checking line player (can hit, good positionally, likes to forecheck) when the pace is on the right level, which would be SHL level then.

Yeah no doubt would he have been an excellent checking line player for a team like this if his skating was at least average

Not sure Söderberg is actually good enough to play a top 6 role on this team right now. He only scored 14 points in 80 games this year, that is beyond poor

Shame about him. I like(d) his playing style, but he seems to have lost a step. Too lazy?

I don't know, maybe a few weeks of rest will do him well. Don't know if he's lazy probably just not the most energetic player

I don't think lazy is really the word for Soderberg. Only tries when he wants to. Chances are he will want to try for this toyrnament so he should be ok.

Söderberg is a fine player who's having a bad season on a terrible team. He's better than every center we have in Europe, he can play anywhere in the lineup and on the wing as well.
