Eddie Läck? He is one of the worst goalies in NHL.

Nordström is a nice add, quality grinder, better than Brodin, Thuresson etc.

I feel that Sweden will be strong as hell this year. You have a pretty big potential to add something from the playoffs. The first round ends 2-3 weeks before the tournament starts, so ther is certainly going to be some additions.

If you could add Landeskog and Soderberg, you would already have basically two forward lines from the NHL. Obviously getting OEL, Stralman, and maybe Karlsson would be huge, but you have other possibilites also, even if they didn't go, like Ekholm for example.

OTT-BOS (Karlsson)
TOR-WSH (Nylander)
NYR-MTL (Zibanejad, Fast, Lindberg - all are RFA though)
CMB-PIT (Wennberg (RFA), W.Karlsson - Hornqvist, Hagelin)
CHI-NSH (Kruger, Forsling - Arvidsson (RFA), F.Forsberg, Jarnkrok, Ekholm)
STL-MIN (Steen, Berglund / Brodin, Eriksson Ek)
CGY-ANA (Backlund - Silfverberg, Rakell)
SJO-EDM (M.Karlsson (RFA) - A.Larsson, Klefbom)

Sure, some might be a little injured, and some maybe wouldn't go due to being RFA. But still, there are many players who could realistically be added, like Nylander, F.Forsberg, or Backlund.

Even if the NHL stars keep accepting Lindblom will likely be on this team helluva playoff performance.

Although that was my thoughts on Holmström two years ago..

If I had to speculate about those 7-8 names it would probably be:
Hedman - Makes sense, had a great season and wasn't his fault they missed playoffs.
Strålman - Package deal with Hedman, but he's usually showed up when given a chance.
Klingberg - Basically said straight up he's going as long as he's invited.
E. Lindholm - Finished well, probably looking to play some more.
Rask - Bit of a packade deal here aswell, this year he has a contract in place.
Nyquist - Because why not.
Edler - Been a while since he played any meaningful hockey.
Lehner* - Invited and likely wants to play but needs a new contract first.

That would leave outside:
OEL - With sad death of his mother, I'd expect his mind to be somewhere else right now.
Landeskog - As the captain of a sinking ship, I don't expect him to go.
Söderberg - Has not shown any willingness before to play in WCH, was also terrible this year.
Nilsson - Similar situation to Lehner.
Läck - Don't think they view him as better than the options in Europe, his season was bad and he had some late injury struggles aswell.

One potentially invited but not talked about much could also be Nordström. Can certainly play a checking or 3rd wheel role on this team.

There's plenty enough players potentially going out in the 1st round to add another 5-6. Preferably guys like Forsberg, Arvidsson and Wennberg.

Those NHL D confirmed so far:
Hedman 53,4 CF% (elite)
Klingberg 49,6 CF% (pretty good, Karlsson-esque without finish)
Edler 48,7 CF% (It is Vancouver which don't play meaningful hockey, stats in Klingberg territory. )

Its maybe on the forwards we need additions from the NHL the most.

If only half of these forwards accept (projected losers)...

Landeskog
Söderberg
Nylander
Zibanejad
Krüger
Eriksson Ek
Backlund/Wennberg

...we might end up with these guys:

Landeskog - Söderberg - Lindblom
Zibanejad - Rask - Lindholm
Omark - Wennberg/Backlund - Everberg
Nordström - Sundström - Klingberg
Zackrisson - Gynge

Hedman - Strålman
Edler - Klingberg
Hjalmarsson/Ekholm - Brodin
Gustafsson - Fantenberg

ARE WE HAPPY WITH THIS?

Was former Islander prospect Johan Sundstrom not invited? I was hoping he show up so he can get a little exposure. There has been talk of him coming back to the NHL whether it was with the Islanders or the Islanders even trading him.

Not that I have been following him closely but he has seemed to found his game in the SEL

per Aftonbladet Strålman is confirmed, Gustafsson and Brodin injured

Why is Fasth a lock? He have been bad in Tre Kronor for a long time now. Henrik Karlsson is better than him.

i think jackets, flames, rangers, leafs, nashville, ottawa will lose.

which could give us:

Forsberg - Wennberg - Arvidsson
Zibanejad - Backlund - Nylander
Landeskog - Rask - Lindholm
Nordström - Lindberg - Fast

Hedman - Strålman
OEL - Karlsson
Edler - Klingberg

Lehner

HM: Ekholm, Brodin, Söderberg, Järnkrok, Stålberg.
