If I were D-man exiting the 2nd round I would be quite ok entering the WC if healthy. There is a minimum of pressure on you, given the D-squad and you can thus afford to get easier minutes too, coming in late. We got 5 D-men in the play-offs now (not counting the Ottawas) 4 of them would be great additions and Gunnarsson being perfectly fine as 7th.

The forwards on the other hand will have pressure coming in, expected to change stuff. That situation will be different.

Gunnarsson vs Rosen? I would probably take Rosen.

Many might do so. I have learned that much that I like Gunnarsson a lot more than others tend to do. He is not flashy but decent defensively, I think this team could use him.

With that said, we are discussing the 5th option for the 7th D-man so it is really not a big deal.

Only me struck by the over-biased Wikegård in the game against Germany? I like him a lot and sure it is ok to be a little biased when it is the NT. But calling out the refs for everything and then just totally ignore that Landeskog had a blatant spear in the first period. :shakehead.

I'm gonna give him a pass that's what he's there for but ideally he should be in the studio and sanny commentating with Granqvist

I would like them to move back to Klingberg - OEL and let the first 2 D-pair (OEL, Hedman, Klingberg, Strålman) get like 25 min each, and let Brodin and Edler get like 10 min. Kind of like Nashville, if you have 4 d-men that stands out, play them heavily instead of spreading them around.

Why would you demote Brodin and limit his minutes to 10 when he's been one of their best d mans? Him and OEL have been their best pairing so far.

Klingberg and Edler got stuck in their zone a lot and if you had to choose a weak link on defense, it'd be them so why promote Klingberg over Brodin who's been great away from the puck and with it?

Because Klingberg is our next best D after Hedman, and was easdily our best d-men in the practice games and in his last whc. Brodin is ok, but he is nowhere near Klingberg. Klingberg and OEL looked great in the practice games, better than OEL and Brodin.

I disagree. Klingberg is not good defensively and him and Edler weren't very good last game. Brodin is one of their best defensively while Klingberg is not. Klingberg is good offensively but not defensively and even then, he hasn't pitched in on offense and Brodin has. Brodin and OEL was their best pairing so I ask again, why split them up?

It's pretty hard to dislike Gunnarsson, I guess. But he's more the guy I would bring in to log some minutes on a bad team. Giving the experience to somebody else makes sense on this team.

Brodin has been fantastic so far, in another topic of discussion. It's extra impressive because he's playing on his off side.

Brodie played the offside in his first two years in the NHL when he was paired with Suter. He can play either side really well.

Ideally, Sanny should be nowhere near a hockeystudio, I cant stand that man hehe

Wikegård got mad after Lindholm got slashed. Him and Lindholm's father are good buddies.

Nashville knocked out St Louis so no chance Filip Forsberg arrives now or any of the other preds swedes but is there a chance that Alexander Steen could come?

I think they're going to wait for both the Anaheim series and the Washington series to end before making decisions

Not always the biggest fan of sanny either too much bias towards his playerbuddies. But he's pretty good as a color guy.

And Granqvist is a very very good commentator but he doesn't really have the passion for hockey which is noticeable.

Steen broke his foot in game one and then further broke it (lol) a few games later. Zero chance he comes.

Sanny is the best!

Lindholm is training with the team as usual today most likely back in the lineup tonight

That's some of the best hockey i've seen him play.

NHL is much tougher, more physical and now when Landeskog plays in the WC it sometimes looks like a man vs a boy, a bit funny sometimes, Landeskog is mean on the ice. Landeskog is a perfect match for the Swedish team because Landeskog plays a pure North American type of hockey. Since his debute in SEL as a 16 year old (!) he went to Canada for OHL and you can see that in his game, Landeskog is not very Swedish in his style at all.

Also, I still consider Landeskog a natural born leader but he became a NHL captain way too early, too much unnecessary preassure. I am sure it feels good for him not being a captain for Sweden, he is focusing on playing. I would still say that Landeskog is the most natural leader ever come out of Sweden and the future will prove me right.

What differs Landeskog from some Canadian and American players is that Landeskog having a feeling for Swedish/European hockey (huge difference in officiating) and thus adjusting himself not taking too many stupid penalties, he is playing very smart.

Also I am sure that Landeskog is playing with some frustration and wish for revenge after Colorado having an awful, terrible catastrophic season. We see guys like McKinnon and Barrie playing very well too right now, they are frustrated like hell. ;-)

Worst team in the entire NHL, the Avs is dominating the WC so far?

Berglund would be a good add. He is big, quite physical and pretty skilled. He is better than Söderberg and Kruger. The way Berglund played in World Championship 2010 was one of the best performance i ever seen in Tre Kronor.

Would be a solid addition yes but I'd think they would want to wait the Capital and Anaheim series out before making anymore invitations, because I would think all the swedish players involved there gets the call before him in this situation.

Berglund is a confusing guy, very streaky and up and down, a huge dissapointment for Blues in the playoffs this year.

I'm not sure.

That was 7 years ago.
