WC: 2017 Team Sweden

But with some more centers in the mix I think there are some other options worth exploring.

Why because they play on the same NHL team?
I haven't watched enough Hurricanes or Avalanche games, but none of the pairs haven't really played together this season right?

I was actually thinking the same, not to split them. But the point was that I'm not overly excited with the alternatives if no other C comes from NHL.

I like those combinations. But I'm not sure if I like Omark on a third line tho, I think he's too one-dimensional in his game to play on the third. If Nylander and Wennberg both comes, perhaps Omark should not get a spot on the team, or?

No, because the top talent is not enough to spread out the NHL forwards on three lines right now. I mean your scenario has Nordström and Peterson as wingers on a scoring line, at which point it's not that much of a scoring line anymore at this level. Would rather stack two lines and have one euro line that has played a lot together then. You could play Rask with Landeskog and Söderberg with Lindholm but I don't see the point, stylistically it makes no big difference as they're all strong on the puck and got pretty good size aswell.

Makes sense.
I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens in NHL.
Wennberg has been struggling with some injuries this spring right?

Omark looked good with Lindblom in the EHT though - Lindblom and Ryno creating space, winning board battles etc meant all Omark had to do was worry about creatng scoring chances. And Karlsson and Lindblom can compensate for his defensive deficiencies.

Okay, maybe he's a better fit then I thought. It's just that I don't see him on a PP if, lets say, Nylander and Wennberg both comes from NHL.
And the Swedish defencemen are too good not to play at least 3 of them in PP 1 and 2.
After all Omark is with out a doubt a very skilled player :handclap:
 
Tommy Boustedt(our GM) retweeted that Krüger wants to go, so I guess that means he's going to join the team.
 
In whc I doubt we will have much better players than Kruger in the 4:e line so in whc I am ok with him, even if he will not be a difference maker here either, but in a tournament with all the best he should not be close to the team.
 
Honestly, I've never seen so many nhl-ers accept invitations for Sweden for WC. Maybe that's their way to show that ***** Bettman that they want to play at the Olympics.
 
i never understood the hype about kruger. he is very average and meh. would even prefer shl-centers like lundqvist and sundström over him.

Yeah, but this is whc, in the 4th line there is usually not better players than Lundqvist or sundström.
 
At this pace all of the swedish offense is going to come from defensemen. And that isn't going to cut it even if the defense is far and away the best in the tournament.

We need creative and productive forwards, my god would Wennberg and Nylander be great additions. As good as omark may be sometimes in the KHL he is lazy and largely ineffective against better opponents unless he has someone to help him out

w.karlsson have more skills than kruger, so switch them.

everberg is just for 4th line.

and yeah, eriksson ek would be a nice add, i complete forgot about him. klingberg is nice aswell.
