The Ovechkin hate is amazing. I would prefer to get Malkin, but you people are just crazy talking aout some stenches of failure and how he wouldn't help the team. It is truly hard to be a hockey player for you. What did Ovechkin do to you?

He for sure wouldn't help the team, in a role Znarok will put him.
Like I said, if they just use him as PP specialist, fine, great addition.
But nah, its Ovechkin, you can't use him like broken down Mozyakin, you must play him 20 mpg and in all crucial situations.
And will you argue that Ovechkin has been looking awful in pretty much every one of the last international tourneys? (Okay, he was fine in Minsk, but Russia was the only one who brought a decent team there.)
I really hope Ovi does not come..he is half the player he use to be his best days are behind him sadly but its true. Been watching all the playoff games with Caps and he is slower and just fumbling with the puck. He has his one timer and that is about it. Game 7 last night and he did nothing there was no fire there cause he does not have it anymore. This Russian team is better of without him but i would like Kaprizov and Kustnekov ..i want the future players. Orlov to.
There is nothing about Mozyakin ??? What does russian newspaper say? Has he left the earth or something ???
I dont hate Ovi - been in love with him for 10 years and he is the reason for my following the Caps. But i see what i see and what Caps fans are seeing now. Its just reality
Tretyak said he is better, for what it's worth. My guess is he will be sheltered at least until the USA game.
Here we go, Ovechkin haters. It was pretty obvious he is injured. That wasn't Ovechkin out there. But now you get your wish. He is not going.
Exactly what we needed , I like Orlov addition as well, offensively creative d man is what we need
Calm down maestro. This is the most fun russian team i watched in a long time in terms of creativity. Yes, for now just Sweden was real test, but it was also first game . How they will respond to USA and maybe Canadian pressure (if they meet), or Finland defensive system is yet to be seen.
Czech can be also dangerous. Defense wasnt tested yet for real so hard to make any conclusions yet.
Bravo Znarok for changing Gusev and Panarin, good move. Instantly great duo, Kucherov and Panarin. Now i cant wait to see Kuznetsov between them, mama mia what a potential this line has. Malkin would be also great with Mozyakin and Radulov or Kaprizov. All lines that can play creative, combinational hockey.
AO injured or not just lost his mojo somehow. I am 100% russian team would be worse with AO unless you get 2010 or younger version of AO.

I have never seen an "Ovechkin hater" express they didn't want to see him play, ever (whether in the NHL, internationally, wherever!)
I have seen some supporters of the Russian NT say they wished he didn't play on the NT anymore (they express similar views about Ovechkin as the haters you referenced), but that's the only time I've ever seen/heard of anyone wishing he didn't play

Kuznetsov isn't even that good? lol, okay, I guess. Seriously... That's way off.
Ovechkin has always been criticized by NHL fans for failure to win the Stanley Cup all by himself. He is the best goal scorer in the NHL, so everyone thinks he should be able to go solo and hoist the Cup every year.
