Same With BARABANOV i dont know much about him as well just heard he is a talent and i see he is 23 years old

If Russia not going With the Caps players who are the waiting for ?
I hope for Tarasenkov - Malkin we can forget no way the Pens loose this one...

Well that's the difference between Soviet teams of yesteryear and NT now.

They didn't need to take Telegin and Lyubimov types.

Well Telegin was and is for me maybe the only positive thing about Znarok. Maybe he will suck this WHC, but until now he was a positive contributor, very good defensive and energetic guy, playing much better than a lot of guys with more bigger names...

It was Sorokin last year and he hasn't allowed a goal so it's probably him this year as well.

100% this. I Like him every time I'm watching Russia. Nice speed, strong, goes to the dirty areas, gritty, decent hands, good shot and seems to be ten times more productive in national team than in CSKA lol. I hope it'll change next season though

I don't agree with splitting up the Gusev-Schipachyov-Dadonov line.

Sure there was past chemistry with Panarin and Kuch/Gusev played together, but all of that is the past.

That line was awesome this season.

Isn't Ship, Dadonov +1 line always looking good no matter who is the 3rd?

Looking forward to a new look of that line in Vegas. :naughty:

Did Nichuskin get cut from the Team? I thought he was playing but he is not listed in today's game

Yea from what i understood he i cut from the team

I regret talking about the gold...this looks so bad so bad.....so far....

Im on the fence on this. If the Kucherov-Gusev line looked okay Id be okay but they have been bad even in the EHT games. Namestnikov is not the right option on the other side, IMO guy like Nichuskin could have been a good fit there.

They will find their game. They looked better in the 3rd. Gusev could score that one-timer in the 3rd, and we'd speak different about them.

Ovie was a big part of the 2008 WHC win, and did his part in 2012 (albeit for only the medal round) and 2014.

But what will haunt Ovie's legacy is the fact that he has won nothing at the top-level of international play - best-on-best - while not getting the Caps past the second round (which looks to be the case again this year).

Equally upsetting for Ovie is the fact that he's come out on the losing end in big games vs Crosby every single time: 2005 Junior final, 2009 playoffs, 2010 Olympics, 2015 WHC final, 2016 playoffs, 2016 World Cup semifinal, and now down 3-1 again...

His legacy will be as one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history. It was never a one-on-one matchup with Crosby, as the games you cite feature Crosby as a part of Canadian teams that were better than their Russian counterparts. Beyond that, there is no question in my mind that Crosby is the best player in the modern era of NHL and Canadian history, not even on the same level as anyone else. He blows everyone else off the face of the Earth. Whether he is the best Canadian player in history is a matter for discussion. Only Howe, Orr, Gretzky and Lemieux belong in the same sentence in Canadian history IMO.

I dont agree with you when you say " not even on the same level as anyone else in the NHL " i think when Malkin is on top his level is higher than Crosby. Crosby has been more consistent than Malkin but when he is on there is Mario all over him
Having said that i think now there are so many good players in the NHL and hopefully media starts to promote that not the silly Crosby vs Ovi which was stupid from day one tough i understand it from a market point of view.

Crosby will go down as one of the top 15-20 players looking at NHL history as a whole.
I modern era him and Malkin has for sure been the best players and Ovi the best goal scorer

I agree 100 % with you the Crosby has by far been the best Canadian in the modern era but to put him up with Mario or Gretsky that is to go a litle bit far i think

You can say what you want about Ovi and even i who has always loved him and know thinks he has fallen out (as mentioned here i dont want him any longer on the NT team ) he will go down as one of the best scorers not only in modern era but in the history of NHL. For that part he is different from both Malkin and Crosby regarding modern era and the NHL history cause Ovi will if he continue play in the NHL he could crack top 5 all list. At scoring he has not only been outstanding in modern era but a scoring talent who belongs among the best of the best. On Malkin and Crosby level no way he is and he has always been a different animal. Its sad that both Malkin and Crosby has lost so many games during injuries but thats part of the game. They both would have picked up a lot of more hardware had they played more.

Now back to Russia i was very dissapointed after the first to periodes but in the 3 the lines seems to work better. There is more to come from Kucherov who looks a lite bit off right now but boy do i like our 4 line..who would have tought :) They will be extremely importent for us later in the tournament

Is Nikushkin with the team or is he out for good this tournament? I hear people say different things...Karprizov i undersand is out.

Is Bereglazov still with the team?

I mean if Orlov doesn't play in the WC, then we'll have only 7 D till the end of the tournament...

No, he didn't make the roster.

7 D is fine. I think that's the way to structure the rosters. 13 forwards and 7 Defensemen. 4 lines of forwards and 3 pairs of D, with extra each.
