WC: 2017 Team Canada

Some insider reported that Crawford said he's interested to play at the Worlds, if I am not mistaken... It is really weird. Why would they not take him?

I don't remember who was the source of this information though.

Vlasic is spectacular addition, it would be awesome if he came along with Burns. Canada needs such an offensive force on the blueline.

If that were to happen, I think I would have to drop everything, book a flight to Paris and watch some hockey.

Eichel was basically PPG this year coming off an injury. Not sure what more could be expected. Also, Marner is not in the same class as Eichel, Matthews, or McDavid. He just won't be able to impact the game in the same way. Exceptional playmaker though.

Yeah, that sounds like an odd quote. Perhaps more context is needed. Expectations are also higher on Eichel than on Marner, so maybe that was part of it.
 
Uh why hasn't Crawford been contacted? I was actually looking forward to watching the Tournament this year but the lack of talent this year is just plain disappointing. Zero depth.

Kane has no one to blame but himself as he was the one telling people he was going. Can't really blame that on the few people that made it public

Agree on Eichel, I was surprised, I guess there's more we don't know ? I didn't ask so much as to why he would say that but maybe in terms of work ethic and what people in the league are saying, it's come out that he can be better ? He did agree that the injury slowed him down this year, but I guess he feels Eichel can be better.

Regarding Marner, he said he wasn't in the same class but he's not far off and should only get better, I know there's some chatter that he could be on that level, time will tell. I should of asked about Laine too lol. Oh well, next time.

That information was from last week. We don't know if Crawford has been asked since.

5 players from the Flyers on Team Canada, that will be fun to watch. Can't wait. :) Chad Johnson is certainly a little bit disappointing.

Did 1 of the Flyers drop out? With Schenn joining in on the fun, that would make it 5?

Chad Johnson is a disappointment, yes.

No, 5 players, my mistake. That's amazing. :laugh: I suppose they will add dman after 2nd round just like they did last year. Everything looks great, except for goaltending. Defense should still get better, but now they have 3 goalies...

You say the bolded like it's a good thing. This goalie trio is not a good thing in anyway. Two young goalies who struggle with consistency plus Chad Johnson who got hot for 1/5 of the starting season? The worst part is Johnson is a UFA which means he's only here to raise the amount he'll get in Free Agency. To me this means they promised him the majority of starts which is not a good thing.

I'd be absolutely fine if Johnson/Pickard/Comrie were either the back-up or the no. 3 guy. The fact is though one will be the starter and Hockey Canada is gambling on them being average which none have done consistently this season. The defense is going to have their work cut out for them.

No, I meant to say exact opposite. Goaltending is the only one area which looks very questionable on this team. And I used "but now they have 3 goalies..." because it means, it won't get any better.
