A few surprises there (Lerby & Steen) but nothing major. Goalies are set, 5 cuts to make (3 defensemen + 2 forwards).

He will probably never eclipse 65 points in the NHL, not that offensively gifted.

More of a two-way player ala Backlund.

I agree completely, Eriksson Ek is more of a two-way player.

Here's how the defense might look like, going by the defensemen that Expressen listed (only two players with right-handed shots);

Moverare - Bouramman
Lerby/Brännström/Dahlin

Also, I'm a bit surprised that Fredrik Karlström didn't make the team.

Completely missed that, that's a big surprise for me as well. He can play next year though.

Another one I'm missing is Jesper Lindgren. Thought he looked terrific in the one game he played at the 4-nations tournament.

Maybe that isn't the roster though...

Karlström has 17 points at 21 games in Allsvenskan and Ahl 17 goals at 23 games in WHL, and they not make it at 28 names?

Don't think Ahl will make the roster. He scored a ton in J20 last year as well but didn't look very good in the SHL or in international games. Sure, his numbers look good but he's only third in scoring on his line. Lindgren and Carlsson are not by any means locks either. Karlström was IMO the only big omission on that roster.

The preliminary roster will be 26 players, as Montén says in the article. There are 28 players in that 'leaked' roster. I don't think it's right.

On Ahl, since they apparently didn't schedule any Regina games for the recent North America scouting trip, his chances don't seem great. Unless of course he's already a lock.

Well, no one of these 4 players is a lock, you have 2 goalies, 2 defenseman and 6 forwards in that category, from my opinion..

But i am also little surprised when Brännström, Liljegren and Dahlin (all three) was selected for the U18 Camp 14-17 december..

Ahl and Karlström has really good seasons, but they are not top-6 forward in this team, and it's all about to build a team, so it's a coach decision..

But as I wrote before very surprised if all these 4 players is out at 28 players..

Are you refering to this tweet? That's the Swedish roster for the summer evaluation camp, not the preliminary WJC roster. Scared me a bit there.

One player that should be in the big team at least is Jesper Boqvist. He has been great in allsvenskan, much better than Lööke. He could be a impact player.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if at least one of Karlström and Wingerli doesn't make it, considering the lack of centers. If both Brännström and Dahlin are among the seven, at least one of them is playing every game. I like either as the seventh defenseman. Still not many righties. I'd worry about a nearly all-lefty defense. Strong, smart teams would put pressure on the off-side d-man and impede the transition game.

I think not having a single righty defenseman is a considerable risk.
