Received praise from Bragin for improving defensive game. So I guess he's in. CHL/AHL players will join camp in Canada after the russian camp scratches are made.

Do you think that means all the CHL/AHL players have made the team or do you think there will be another round of cuts?

There will be a handful of cuts from the current camp. The team will then go to Canada and be joined by the NA hopefuls. Then the final cuts will be made.

Training camp lines

Kaprizov - Vorobiev - Polunin
Karnaukhov - Kavrtalnov - Urakov
Yurtaikin - Alekseev - Rubtsov
Artemov - Belyayev - Lee
Kotlyarevskiy - Maltsev - Ivashov

Only 2-3 additions to those awful formations? ****, that's ugly. I hope Bragin knows what he's doing.

Keep in mind there will be aditions AND subtractions to ths russian camp roster. The 2 spots are open on the FINAL roster Bragin has in mind. So we don't know for now which NA forwards he sees as locks.

The best is to wait for the team leaving behind players in Russia. Those cuts will give more indication for the NA skater's stock in Bragins mind. The last and final cuts will be made in Canada after the exhibition games.

Rubtsov on the 3rd line and at wing?

not suppose to be a go to guy for you?

If he makes it (he should) he is likely the youngest skater on the team... and there are a handful of guys at forward who are already solid KHL regulars, and Guryanov is holding own in AHL.

As for the wing situation, he is a good centre, and it is his natural position, lets him use his skill, speed and IQ the most. But he is physically not mature yet and sucks on face-offs!

Artyomov, Ivashov, Kotlyarevskiy, Maltsev, Petrishchev and Yepishin have been cut from the roster.

Looks like Karnaukhov is about to be cap-tied. Daniil Misyul has also committed to Russia for the future. Wonder what's taking them so long to get Pavel Lapin to commit.

Yeah, 4 years is the minimum for a nationality change, 2 years for adding a nationality. Cap tie comes once a player plays for a team in any IIHF sanctioned tournament so starting with U18s I think, maybe U17 Olympics, but not a complete tie because if you spend 4 years in another country you can switch. Of course Karnaukhov won't be hoping to spend 4 years in his birth state any time soon...

What kind of impact is the 18 year old Sergachev going to make on the back end? I liked what I saw/read/hear from him but wondering what people think that know a lot about him? I really only watched him in the 3 games he played for the Habs this year.
