It may be a bit early; however, I would like to start up a thread for this tournament. My sites are set on travelling to Europe to see this tournament and think it would be cool to see who is all going, tickets, accommodation, cool places to go, etc.

Location:
Paris, France and Cologne, Germany

Date: May 5th to 21st

Venues:
Bercy Arena, Paris
Capacity: 15,000

Lanxess Arena, Cologne
Capacity: 18,500

I went to Paris and Germany (not Cologne) last year, and it was a great trip. When I heard that the World Championship was going to be in these cities, I circled it on the calendar.

What I liked the most about this area was that you could rent a car and link to so many areas, in what I would consider a short drive. My last trip started in Frankfurt, and did a loop down to Munich, Austria, Switzerland, France.

My hopeful intentions this time would be to start in England for some exploring and eventually work my way to Paris for some games, travel to Cologne for some more then do a loop up through Amsterdam/Belgium before coming home. However, I guess it all depends on what teams are in what pool and where I should start.

If anyone has any ideas, would be cool to hear!

Looking forward to this one as well. I except a lot of Team Canada players and their wives will be fully on-board for the Paris adventure, not so much for this year though. Which is unfortunate, as somebody who lived in St. Petersburg a few times, the city is spectacular and I prefer it over Paris any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Never really thought of it that way, but makes a ton of sense - the team last year was stacked and got the gears going on thinking about travelling - here is hoping we see the same in 2017!

I probably should have put more thought into Russia this year, but I really liked being able to go to so many different cities/countries in a short period of time while in Europe. Not to mention, I somewhat expect Team Canada to be a little thinner.

I would love to go to Paris for WHC next year. I've never been to Paris before... so this is a good idea and chance to connect 2 great things together... hockey and visiting Paris for the first time.

I live like 60km away from Cologne. Can't wait to see some games there, especially if there will be some Avs players participating (even though this would mean they missed the POs).

Anyone have any clue on the pricing of tickets? How they work? (do you need a full tourney package, flex pack etc) And how likely is it to sell out?

Not much information on that yet.

There was a special around christmas for German fans who could purchase a team package for all 7 group games of Team Germany in Cologne (only 500 such packages were available). Those cost 133 € (roughly $150 (US) or $200 (CAN)).

The final schedule for the tournament is supposed to come out on August 1st 2016. Some time after that there should be more information available regarding packages, and pricing of tickets.
At least that would be my guess.

EDIT:
Right now team tickets for the games of Germany and France are available. Tickets for single games of the two host nations will become available after the schedule has been announced.
Team packages for the other 14 nations will become available in October 2016. Single game tickets for games not involving Germany and France will be available in spring of 2017.

There are also the following packages available:
Venue package (includes all 34 games in Cologne): Starting at 729 €
Venue package (includes all 30 games in Paris): Starting at 469 €
Group package (includes all 28 group stage games in Cologne): Starting at 426 €
Group package (includes all 28 group stage games in Paris): Starting at 406 €
Finals package (includes 2 QF, 2 SF, Bronze Medal Game and Final in Cologne): Starting at 351 €
Finals weekend package (includes 2 SF, Bronze Medal Game and Final in Cologne): Starting at 267 €

On average the cheapest single tickets for the games are supposesd to cost about 15 €.
