Brisebois is a good defencemen but I don't think he will make the team. Defensively he's not strong enough and sometimes he's one step too late. For the offence, I don't think he can pass in front of a Girard or a Mete. It's not because he's a poor defensemen, I just think there's no fit for him in this team...

I think you haven't seen playing Brisebois often because he's one of the most complete D. of QMJHL!!

I think he'll be there like shutdown D.

I see Brisebois quite a bit but I don't think he has a spot on the team.

Chabot and Juulsen are locks. Bean and Fabbro seem like they are very liked as well.

Lauzon is better than Brisebois.

Mete/Girard will be the #7.

Its basically between Myers and Brisebois.

So, this probably means the following will make the team:

Joseph-Cirelli-Speers <-- he should have never been invited due to injury...now they will play an injured speers!!!???? what fools these guys a HC just fools
Dubois-Roy-Jost

Bean/Juulsen

So, from the remainder, who gets cut?
assuming Strome doesnt get cut...lol

Dube-Strome-Raddysh
Howden-Stephens-Senyshyn
Wagner-McLeod-Merkley
Steel-Barzal-Gauthier

Chabot-Fabbro
Lauzon-Mete
Brisebois-Clague
Girard-Myers

i think the cut will be Brisebois , Clague and maybe Mete
I dont understand why Myers is so low? there is not ONE bruiser on this team...i think Myers stays as seems most these guys a PMD!!!

at 6.5 Myers will stay....they cannot play with 5 PMD !!!! anyways i say only 3 Q defensemen make the team (And i am a Q guy)

So :
Bean/Juulsen
Chabot-Fabbro
Lauzon-Myers (They cannot affort for 6.4 guy NOT to make it)
Girard

This is NOT a big team !!!! nor is it a bruising team....where is the cycle and puck possession...

You don't think Myers is a puck mover? I'd consider him more of a puck-mover than a bruiser, as you suggested. Yes he's 6'5, but he's pretty damn skilled.

Based on who is playing and who is not playing tonight and tomorrow.....i can make some sort of guess

HC already has the team in their head...there might be 1 maybe 2 surprises but overall the team is already done

They will put Speers on the team unless he just cant play...or else he wouldn't be here

I want Myers on the team...i think he is more of physical beast whcih team canada clearly lacks

So...this is my team

Jake Bean Defence L
Guillaume Brisebois Defence L <-- cut
Thomas Chabot Defence L
Kale Clague Defence L <-- cut
Jérémy Lauzon Defence L
Samuel Girard Defence L <-- the 2 shrimps battle it out
Victor Mete Defence L <-- the 2 shrimps battle it out

Dante Fabbro Defence R
Noah Juulsen Defence R
Philippe Myers Defence R

Anything other than the above is a travesty...
i do think they will try and keep as many Q guys

At the risk of reading too much into yesterday's practice lines and the lineup for tonight's game, it seems to me that the Wagner-McLeod-Merkley line is certainly at risk. Neither Wagner nor Merkley were strong bets to make the team going in, and having McLeod line up between them is probably not a good sign for him either - especially considering Roy and Cirelli are both scratched tonight and Stephens has been at center so far.

Other than that, Dube, another relative longshot, is alongside Strome tonight in what would/will be Jost's position. And of course Speers is somewhat of a wild card.

Do you know if there is a place to watch it?

I assume that there is based on years past, but I don't know it yet. Check out McKenzie or Masters or Hockey Canada on twitter and I assume they will let us know eventually.

I've never been impressed by Brisebois in the Quebec league. He'll be hard pressed to make the team on the left side.

I agree with this analysis of the players sitting. More importantly, McKenzie does as well. In his World Junior preview show McKenzie put Bean, Cirelli, Roy and Joseph as favourites heading into the camp, and this lineup seems to back him up. He also listed Dubois and Jost as near locks. He doubled down on those thoughts as well today.

To me it looks like Dube, Wagner, McLeod and Merkley are in the most danger at forward given where they are playing in this game. Speers is as well since it seems like his health still isn't permitting him to play.

Yes I think that's how it will go, with Girard more likely than Mete to make it in the end. Have to think that for a lot of these players camp performance will decide things though, which is a good thing.

Everyone seems stuck on the past - why not pick the same team as we did at the summer camp? oops didn't win a game then
So who is new and different Merkley total play maker who can put the puck on the stick of the goal scorers - 3 goal scorers on the same line didn't work last year and won't work this year
he had 2 assists in the can Russia game 2

Could be anyone. TSN is already telling us about the impressive chemistry that Jost and Strome already established at the largely unsuccessful summer camp, so any number of guys could presumably fit right in beside such a successful pair.

U Sports? Ugghh.

Still curious as to who is getting that coveted spot on Strome's right wing.

Strome with Arizona - and mostly a scorer
Merkley with Arizona - and mostly a set up player
would be ideal combination

It will be tough to be worse than last years team.

I mean that team SUCKED.

The team really was not that bad, it was poorly coached and not disciplined enough but it had decent talent. Heck, it barely lost to the eventual gold medal winning team that everyone says was such a good team and could very well have beat them had a couple of guys stayed under more control in that elimination game. Bad penalties really cost us in that game but for all that teams warts it could have easily won that Finland game.

Anyone have the U team lineup for tonight. I know there will be some very good players on that team.

No last years team really sucked.

They were in group A, and here is their record in the group stage
USA = LOSS
Denmark = WIN
Switzerland = WIN and they BARELY won that game in OT
Sweden = LOSS
They were outplayed in both sweden and US badly.

I mean the teams leading scorer's only had 6 points in 5 games which wasn't even good enough to be in the top 20 in scoring.

at least in other years Canada had super stars who could score. Lat years team had no one show up.

I'll check them out, thanks!!

I agree, while the team last year performed terribly, the talent was quite good. They also picked pretty much all the right players, based on the year they had been having to that point and camp performance. It just didn't work out. Thankfully Lowry is not back.

but we are following the same team structure - 3 scorers together on a line - all want the goal /none want the assist - so we don't get the goals need to get the play makers on these lines to give them the set ups

I just think they were coached bad for the most part, certain guys had their moments. like I said, they barely lost to Finland and they could have won that one.

It wasn't a great team or even a good one as far as results go that's for sure but i've seen far worse such as 98.

Never want to see him again. Hate to say that about a human being who I am sure did the best he knew how but it was kind of clear from the get go that he was not going to get the best out of the talent they had there.

It had the potential to be a decent team but like you said it just did not work out and I think Lowry was a big part of that.
