I hate this team
Also glad Hart got a chance at redemption.

The guy who feels like he's getting to much credit to me is Chabot. Way more up and down than i'd expect from our supposed "#1D" and one of our 3 "players of the tournament". He's had a lot of impressive + plays, but he's also been on the wrong end of a lot of pretty brutal misplays. Haven't all ended up in the back of his own net...but man he creates a lot of events - both ways.
Barzal was great early on in the tournament, but I haven't liked his game for much of the past 3 games. Too much individual effort, with little to show for all the dangling around.
But I guess the question is, who else deserved it? Strome, I felt, is in the same boat as Barzal. Some great games mixed with some where you wonder why there's hype. Maybe Mitchell Stephens? But he missed two games, probably knocking him out of contention.
Anyone else not very impressed by Bean? I think he's gotten better as the tournaments gone on but he seems a bit weak on the puck and indecisive. When he has space he is great but I wonder how he will fair in the NHL where space is much more limited.

He got back from an injury (I think to the wrist) just before the WJC so that could explain it.
Glad to hear positives from TB prospects Stephens, Cirelli and Raddysh
The only D performance i can remember in recent memory being worse was Ryan Murphy in 2013. I can't remember actually thinking "good play" at any point this tournament while watching Bean.
I'm all for a Jost-Barzal-Speers line
I've been impressed by Jost and Speers, but highly doubt Ducharme will adjust the lines at this point, at least to start. I expect the bench to get shorter as the game wears on, though. I do find it odd how both Jost and Speers had their best games before being moved to Strome's line, while Stephens and Dubois have played better after being moved off of Strome's line. In my opinion, the 3rd (Roy) and 4th (Cirelli) lines will be critical to the outcome of the game tonight, as neither the Strome nor Barzal lines can seem to get much going at even strength.
The way Strome is playing this year reminds me of a pure striker in soccer. He floats around and waits for someone to feed him the puck in prime scoring areas, sometimes passes in the buildup and that's about it. Doesn't help out much near the boards. He is much less active than he was last year. The Roy and Cirelli lines are more built around pressure from all three forwards (Gauthier floats in scoring areas a bit) and hard work.
No matter the result today, I'll be pretty happy with this tournament because this looked like an underwhelming team on paper that I thought would be lucky to get bronze.
Well coached team that plays "good old Canadian hockey".

Glad our guys are where they always should be, playing for gold. I'm most happy for Connor Ingram. I'm sure he was devastated.
I don't participate in the GDTs, just a whole lot of BS in those, but I do peruse a day later and most of it is disgusting what is written about 18 and 19 year old kids...
and people criticize me for being tough on Hockey Canada bureaucrats.
